“Need You Now” by Lady Antebellum

“Need You Now” is a song performed by American country music group Lady Antebellum. The song was written by group members Charles Kelley, Dave Haywood, and Hillary Scott along with co-writer Josh Kear, and was produced by Paul Worley. It serves as the lead-off single and title track to their second studio album of the same name, and was first released in the US on August 31, 2009. The song became the group’s breakthrough hit in early 2010.

Miranda Lambert’s song “The House That Built Me” was released in 2010 as a single from her album Revolution. The song became a hit, reaching the top of the Billboard Country chart and becoming Lambert’s fourth Number One single. “The House That Built Me” is a ballad about nostalgia and returning to one’s roots. The lyrics tell the story of a person who returns to their childhood home, which is now in disrepair. The song reflects on the memories of the happy times spent in the house and how those memories have helped to shape the person’s life. “The House That Built Me” is a moving and sentimental song that resonates with many people.

“Hillbilly Bone” by Blake Shelton

“Hillbilly Bone” is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Blake Shelton. It was released in March 2010 as the lead-off single to Shelton’s extended play (EP) Hillbilly Bone, and was included on his fourth studio album, All About Tonight. The song became Shelton’s sixth number one hit on the US Billboard Hot Country Songs chart in May 2010. It was written by Shelton, Eric Church, and Jim Beavers.

The song is a mid-tempo in which the male protagonist expresses his love of country music. According to Shelton, he had been wanting to write a song with Church for some time. They got together, along with Beavers, at a Nashville bar called Santa’s Lodge and wrote the song in about 45 minutes. In an interview with Country Weekly magazine, Shelton praised Church’s contributions to the song, saying that he “nailed it”.

Critical reception for “Hillbilly Bone” was positive. Billy Dukes of Taste of Country gave the song a four-star rating, saying that it is “rousing” and “lyrically unique”. Matt Bjorke of Roughstock also reviewed the song favorably, calling it a “throwback” and saying that it could be seen as being similar to Brooks & Dunn’s “Neon Moon”. He went on to say that Shelton delivers the lyrics “with conviction”. Kevin John Coyne of Country Universe gave the song a B grade, praising its sense of fun and calling it an “irresistible summer anthem”.

The song won Single of the Year at both the Academy of Country Music Awards and the Country Music Association Awards in 2010. It also won Song of the Year at both ceremonies; this made Shelton only the second artist ever (after Garth Brooks) to win all three awards for a single track.

He added that he wanted to write a song about how “powerful” water is.

The song is a mid-tempo ballad accompanied by acoustic guitar, steel guitar, piano, banjo, and drums. The lyrics describe a man’s reflection on his life and how it has been changed by love.

“Consider Me Gone” by Reba McEntire

“Consider Me Gone” is a song co-written and recorded by American country music artist Reba McEntire. It was released in August 2009 as the lead-off single to her album Keep On Loving You, which was released on September 29, 2009. In January 2010, the song became McEntire’s eighteenth Number One single on that chart.
