History of the Asian Pop Music Awards
The Asian Pop Music Awards (APMA) is an annual awards ceremony that celebrates the best in Asian pop music. It was established in 2016 by music website J-Wave, and the first awards ceremony was held in 2017.
The awards are given in four main categories: Best Artist, Best New Artist, Best Song, and Best Album. There are also a number of special awards that are given out each year, such as the Lifetime Achievement Award and the Influential Artist Award. Nominations for the awards are selected by a panel of judges, and winners are voted on by a jury of music industry experts.
The APMA’s are one of the most prestigious award ceremonies in Asia, and have been attended by some of the biggest names in the music industry, including BTS, EXO, Red Velvet, GOT7, Taeyeon, and many more.
