Introduction
The Latin American Music Awards is an annual American music award ceremony that recognizes the most popular Latin music in the world. It is produced by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences and is broadcast live on the Telemundo network. The show was first held in 2015 and returns in 2022 for its eighth edition. It celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2020.
Winners
The 2022 Latin American Music Awards were held on April 1, 2022, at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. This was the first time the awards show was held in the United States. Ricky Martin was the host of the show. The awards show was broadcast live on Telemundo.
Best Latin Pop Album
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. According to the category description guide for the 13th Latin Grammy Awards, the award is given to vocal or instrumental albums containing at least 51% of new recordings in Spanish or Portuguese. Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Latin Rock, Urban or Alternative Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. According to the guidelines set by the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences, the award is given to vocal or instrumental albums containing at least 51% of new recordings in Spanish or Portuguese language. The award was first presented as Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Solo Vocal Album. In 2004, the name of the award was changed to Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock Solo Vocal Album. In 2006, it was presented as Latin Grammy Award for Best Rock/Alternative Album. As of 2012, Javier Calamaro is the only artist to be awarded more than once in this category.
Jorge Drexler is the only Uruguayan artist to win in this category.
Mexican rock band Zoé has been nominated five times in this category, more than any other artist.
Best Regional Mexican Music Album
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Music Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is given to solo artists, duos, or groups for albums containing at least 51% of new recordings in any regional Mexican music genre such as banda, norteño, corridos, mariachi, ranchera, or duranguense.
This award was first presented in 2001 as Regional Mexican Album of the Year. It was renamed to Regional Mexican Music Album in 2005.
In 2012, the award was once again presented as the Regional Mexican Album of the Year. It was renamed back to Regional Mexican Music Album in 2013.
Best Tropical Latin Album
The Latin American Music Awards is an annual American music awards show that honors Latin music, including Reggaeton, Fla, Tropical, and Mariachi music. The show was created by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences to recognize the most popular albums and songs in Latin America.

Balvin was also nominated for the prestigious Latin Grammy Award for Album of the Year three times, winning once in 2019. Ozuna
Ozuna is a reggaeton and Latin trap singer from Puerto Rico. He is one of the most popular Latin artists in the world, with several hits that have topped the charts in Latin America, the United States, and Spain. Ozuna has won numerous awards, including three Latin Grammy Awards and five Billboard Latin Music Awards. He is also the most nominated artist at the upcoming 2022 Latin American Music Awards, with nine nominations.
