Ziggy’s life

Reggae artist Ziggy Marley was born on October 17, 1968, in Trenchtown, Jamaica. The youngest son of reggae legend Bob Marley, Ziggy was exposed to music at a young age and began playing the guitar when he was just 10 years old. He joined his father’s band, the Wailers, in 1979 and performed with them until his father’s death in 1981.

Ziggy Marley went on to launch a solo career in 1987 with the release of his debut album, Play the Game Right. He has since released 13 additional solo albums, including the Grammy-winning Ziggy Marley in Concert (2007), as well as several collaborative albums with other artists. In addition to his musical endeavors, Ziggy Marley is also a noted humanitarian and an outspoken advocate for environmental causes.

Bob’s life

Bob was born in Jamaica on February 6, 1945. His father, Norval Sinclair Marley, was a white Jamaican of English descent. His mother, Cedella Booker, was of African descent. As a young man, Bob worked as a welder and then as a farm laborer. He soon began to develop his musical talents, playing the saxophone and drums. In 1963, he formed the Wailers, a band that would soon become one of the most popular reggae groups in history.

The Wailers had their first big hit in 1965 with the song “Simmer Down.” Over the next few years, they released a number of other successful songs, such as “I Shot the Sheriff,” “No Woman No Cry,” and ” Exodus.” In 1977, Bob released his final album, “Exodus.” The album was an instant success, and its title track became one of Bob’s most famous songs.

Bob died of cancer on May 11, 1981. He was just 36 years old. However, his music continues to live on and inspire people all over the world.

Damian Robert Nesta “Jr. Gong” Marley (born July 21, 1978) is a Jamaican reggae artist. Damian is the youngest son of reggae legend Bob Marley. Damian was two years old when his father died; he is the only child born to Marley and Cindy Breakspeare, Miss World 1976.

Damian’s nickname Junior Gong is derived from his father’s nickname of Tuff Gong. Damian has been performing since the age of 13. At age 13, he formed a drum and bass band called The Shepherds with his cousin Ziggy Marley; the band played Exodus so often that they wore out their copy. The Shepherds eventually signed with Tuff Gong and issued their first album in 1999.

His second album, Welcome to Jamrock, which was released in 2005, won the Grammy for Best Reggae Album.

Damian’s music is a mix of reggae, rap and hip-hop. He often addresses social and political issues in his lyrics, denouncing racism and poverty. Damian has also been involved in numerous philanthropic endeavors, such as promoting youth programs in Jamaica and Africa and supporting the legalization of marijuana.
