Cream – Sunshine of Your Love
“Sunshine of Your Love” is a song by the British rock band Cream. It was released as a single in November 1967 and included on the album Disraeli Gears. Written by bassist Jack Bruce, lyricist Pete Brown, and guitarist Eric Clapton, it is one of Cream’s best known and most popular songs. The music overtly echoes Bruce’s earlier composition “Crossroads”, while the lyrics speak of a love so strong it could even “outshine the sun”.
In May 1968, “Sunshine of Your Love” reached number five on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in the United States, becoming Cream’s highest-charting single there. It also reached number six on the UK Singles Chart. The song has been praised by critics and cited as an influence by many musicians.
