Nirvana

Alice in Chains is an American rock band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 1987 by guitarist and songwriter Jerry Cantrell and original lead vocalist Layne Staley. Despite having substantial trouble with addiction, Alice in Chains was one of the most successful music acts of the early 1990s. Their first album, Facelift (1990), was certified platinum and has gone on to be quadruple-platinum. The second album, Dirt (1992), was also a huge success, reaching No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart and being certified sextuple-platinum. The band’s third album, Alice in Chains (1995), was not as commercially successful as its predecessors but still managed to go double platinum.
