Wright rejoined Pink Floyd for A Momentary Lapse of Reason (1987) before leaving again prior to The Division Bell (1994).
Following Gilmour’s tour for About Face (1984), Pink Floyd reconvened to record A Momentary Lapse of Reason but tensions between members again boiled over; by the time Mason refused to participate any further without Waters’ contributions it became obvious that he had effectively left the band their intended double album became The Division Bell instead. After almost two decades apart, Pink Floyd reunited for Live 8 in 2005 with all four surviving members—Waters, Gilmour, Wright, and Mason—performing together on stage for the first time since 1981. It is estimated that they have sold over 250 million records worldwide.
