Early life
Ana Barbara was born in Mexico City, Mexico on November 23, 1966, to Mexican parents. She began her career in the early 1980s as a model, appearing in magazines such as Cosmopolitan en Español, Maxim and Harper’s Bazaar. She subsequently ventured into acting, appearing in various telenovelas such as Código Postal (2006), Pluma de Ganso (2007), Fuego en la Sangre (2008) and Teresa (2010). In 2014, she won the Latin American Music Award for Favorite Regional Mexican Female Artist.
Musical career
Ana Barbara began her musical career in 1997, when she released her first album, “Pura Ana Barbara”, which contained the hit single, “Todos me miran”. The album was certified Gold in Mexico. In 2000, she released her second album, “Ana Barbara”, which contained the singles, “Esperanza” and ” bandida”. The album was certified Platinum in Mexico. In 2003, she released her third album, “Te Quiero Mas”, which contained the singles, “Te Quiero Mas” and “No Es Brujería”. The album was certified Gold in Mexico. In 2006, she released her fourth album, “Esta Mujer”, which contained the hit single, “Preciosa”. The album was certified Platinum in Mexico. In 2009, she released her fifth album, “La Chica Dorada”, which contained the singles, “La Chica Dorada” and “Cuando Un Hombre Te Enamora”.

Ana Barbara was the big winner at the Latin American Music Awards, taking home three trophies.
