Bad Bunny is leading the Latin Music Awards with 22 nominations. The nominations were announced on May 4, 2021. This is the most ever for a single artist. Bad Bunny is also nominated for the Artist of the Year award.

His music

Bad Bunny is a Puerto Rican singer, rapper, and producer. He is considered one of the leading exponents of Latin trap and reggaeton. His music is characterized by its fusion of different genres, including Latin trap, reggaeton, hip hop, and trap. He has released several successful singles, including “Soy Peor”, “Dime si te Acuerdas”, “Chambea”, “I Like It”, and “Mia”. His albums El Último Tour del Mundo and YHLQMDLG have both been certified platinum in the United States.

At the Latin Music Awards 2022, Bad Bunny led the nominations with a total of eight, including nods for Artist of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Streaming Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Song of the Year.

The Puerto Rican singer-songwriter-rapper released his debut album “X 100PRE” in 2018, which shot to No. 1 on Billboard’s Latin Rhythm Albums chart and peaked at No. 2 on the all-genre Latin Albums chart. His follow-up album “El Último Tour del Mundo” debuted at No. 1 on both charts in 2020.

Bad Bunny has racked up an impressive 16 nominations for the 2022 Latin Grammy Awards, leading the pack with J Balvin and Ozuna not too far behind with 12 and 11 nods respectively. The “Dakiti” collaborators are up for nods including Record of the Year, Album of the Year, and Song of the Year.

The Latin Music Awards are back for their 2022 show, and Bad Bunny leads the pack with an impressive nine nominations. The “Dakiti” singer is up for nods in categories like Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Male Artist of the Year, and he’ll also be competing against himself in several races thanks to his work on both his solo album El Último Tour Del Mundo and his joint album with Jhay Cortez, La Canadiense.

Virtual duo CNCO are right behind Bad Bunny with eight nods, while Jhay Cortez and Ozuna each earned seven. Other artists with multiple nominations include Reykon, Valentino, Karol G, Ricky Martin, and Anuel AA.

In the Song of the Year category, Bad Bunny’s “Dakiti” will compete against fellow hits “Te Boté” by Nio García, Casper Mágico & Ozuna; “Tusa” by Karol G & Nicki Minaj; “Azul” by J Balvin; “Un Año” by Sech & J Balvin; and “René” by Residente.

Meanwhile, in the Album of the Year category, Bad Bunny’s El Último Tour Del Mundo is up against CNCO’s Déjà Vu; Sech’s 1 Of 1; Romeo Santos’ Utopía; Reykon’s The Kings Tomb; Valentino’strapmanía 4 Reloaded; Jhay Cortez’ Easy Money Baby; and Residente’s self-titled album.

The 2022 Latin Music Awards will take place on Thursday, April 8. voting is now open to the public in all general categories except for Artist of the Year. Fans can vote once per day through March 21 at 11:59 p.m. ET/8:59 p.m. PT via the show’s website

Bad Bunny’s nominations

Bad Bunny leads the Latin Music Awards 2022 nominations with 16 nods. The list was released on April 6, 2021, and the awards show will air on Telemundo on May 13, 2021.

The “Callaíta” singer is up for Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, Digital Artist of the Year, and more. He’s followed by J Balvin with 12 nominations and Ozuna with nine. Karol G, Ricky Martin, and Natti Natasha are also among the nominees.

This is the first year that the Latin Music Awards will be held as a standalone show. In past years, it was held as part of the Billboard Latin Music Awards.
