The Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame has announced its newest inductees: reggaeton duo Wisin & Yandel, salsa singer Marc Anthony and Tejano artist Selena.
Wisin & Yandel, who are the first reggaeton artists to be inducted, have had a string of hits over their two-decade career, including “Llame Pa’ Verte,” “Sexy Movimiento” and “No Me Dejes Solo.”
Marc Anthony, who is being inducted as a solo artist, has sold more than 12 million albums and won numerous awards, including three Grammy Awards and five Latin Grammy Awards. He is best known for his hits “I Need to Know,” “You Sang to Me” and “When I Dream at Night.”
Selena, who was posthumously inducted into the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame in 2002, was a multi-platinum recording artist who won multiple Grammy Awards. She was murdered in 1995 at the age of 23.
History of the Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame
The Billboard Latin Music Hall of Fame was established in 1994 to recognize “the most influential Latin artists of the past and present.” The inductees are selected based on their “lifetime achievement and outstanding contributions to the Latin music industry.”
The first class of inductees was announced in 1995 and included Miguel Bosé, Charytin Goyco, Celia Cruz, Tito Puente, Gloria Estefan, and Selena.Since then, a total of 85 individuals and groups have been inducted into the Hall of Fame.
This year’s class of inductees includes six artists: Alejandro Fernández, Eugenio Derbez, Gloria Trevi, Jesse & Joy, Juanes, and Ricardo Montaner.

Emilio Estefan is a Cuban-American producer and songwriter who has worked with some of the biggest names in Latin music, including Gloria Estefan, Ricky Martin and Shakira. He is also the founder of the Miami Sound Machine.

The Latin Music Hall of Fame was founded in 2001 by the Latin Academy of Recording Arts & Sciences to celebrate “the big bang of Latin music” and to recognize “the superstars who have transformed the American musical landscape.” The first group of six honorees were inducted at a star-studded gala ceremony held at the Beacon Theatre in New York City.
The Latin Music Hall of Fame now has over 70 members, including musical legends such as Gloria Estefan, Julio Iglesias, Celia Cruz, Ricky Martin, and Selena.
