Country Music Award Winners for 2022

Entertainer of the Year

Male Vocalist of the Year

The Country Music Association has announced the nominees for the 56th annual CMA Awards, and Chris Stapleton leads the pack with six nods.

Female Vocalist of the Year

Carrie Underwood was the big winner at the 52nd annual Country Music Association Awards, taking home three trophies, including the night’s top honor, Entertainer of the Year. It was her seventh win in that category, tying her with Reba McEntire for the most wins by a woman.

Other winners included Chris Stapleton, who won Male Vocalist of the Year and Album of the Year for “Starting Over”; Maren Morris, who won Female Vocalist of the Year; Dan + Shay, who won Duo of the Year; Florida Georgia Line, who won Group of the Year; Little Big Town, who won Single of the Year for “Over Drinking”; and Carrie Underwood, who won Entertainer of the Year.

Vocal Duo of the Year

The Vocal Duo of the Year award is given to the artist with the best vocal performance in a duo. This award was first presented in 1967 and has been awarded annually since then. Some of the past winners of this award include Nashville’s own The Judds, Brooks & Dunn, Montgomery Gentry, and Joey + Rory.

Vocal Group of the Year

The Vocal Group of the Year is a Country Music Award that is presented annually to the best performing country music group. The nominees for the award are:

New Artist of the Year

The New Artist of the Year award is given to a country music artist who has made a significant impact on the country music industry within the past year. Album of the Year

The album of the year award is one of the most prestigious awards given out at the Country Music Awards. This award is given to the artist who has released the best album of the year. The Album of the Year award is decided by a panel of experts who listen to all of the albums that have been released in the past year and decide which one is the best. This award is given out at the Country Music Awards show each year.

Single of the Year

The Single of the Year award is given to the artist that had the best-selling and most successful single in the country music genre. The award is based on sales and airplay.

Some of the past winners of this award include George Strait, Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, and many others.

Song of the Year

The song of the year is awarded to the songwriter(s) of a country music song that has achieved notable success during the eligibility period. The eligibility period for the 2022 awards is January 1, 2021 – December 31, 2021.

Music Event of the Year

The Country Music Association has announced the nominees for the 52nd annual CMA Awards, and Miranda Lambert and Maren Morris lead the pack with seven nods apiece.

Lambert is up for seven awards, including Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, and Female Vocalist of the Year. Morris is nominated for seven awards as well, including Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year (for “The Bones”), Album of the Year (for “GIRL”), and Female Vocalist of the Year.

The other nominees for Entertainer of the Year are Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line, Thomas Rhett, and Keith Urban.

The CMA Awards will air live on ABC on November 8th.
