The Detroit Electronic Music Festival is an annual event that celebrates electronic music and its creators. This year’s festival will take place from May 26-28 and will feature some of the biggest names in the industry.

Introduction

The Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) is an annual electronic music festival held in Detroit, Michigan. The festival was founded in 2000 by Old Detroit Productions and is currently run by Paxahau Events. The 2018 festival will take place from May 26-28 at Hart Plaza.

The festival lineup includes a diverse range of electronic music genres, such as house, techno, trance, dubstep, and drum & bass. Past headliners have included major names such as Kevin Saunderson, Richie Hawtin, Carl Craig, Magda, and Seth Troxler.

In addition to the live music, the festival also features art installations and various other forms of visual entertainment. The DEMF is truly a unique experience that should not be missed!

This year’s Detroit Electronic Music Festival will feature some of the biggest names in dance music, including:

The Venues

This year’s DEMF will consist of five main stages and over 20 smaller satellite stages. The main stages will be:
-The Main Stage: This stage will be located at Hart Plaza and will feature a variety of Electronic Music genres.
-The Belleville Stage: This stage will be located in Belle Isle Park and will feature house and techno music.
-The Red Bull Music Academy Stage: This stage will be located on Woodward Avenue and will feature a mix of Electronic Music genres.
-The Beatport Stage: This stage will be located in Campus Martius Park and will feature dubstep, trap, and other bass-heavy music.
-The Made in Detroit Stage: This stage will be located in Hart Plaza and will feature Detroit-based electronic music artists.
In addition to the main stages, there will also be over 20 smaller satellite stages located throughout the city.

The History of the Detroit Electronic Music Festival

In 1998, the first Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) was held in Hart Plaza. The festival was started by Carl Craig, Kevin Saunderson, and Derrick May, three of the most influential figures in techno music. The festival was originally intended to be a one-time event, but it was so successful that it became an annual event.

Over the years, the festival has grown and evolved. It is now a three-day event that features over 100 artists from all over the world. The festival is also now known as Movement, and it is considered to be one of the premier electronic music festivals in the world.
