Detroit Electronic Music Festival
The Detroit Electronic Music Festival (DEMF) is an annual three-day music festival dedicated to electronic music held in downtown Detroit, Michigan, United States. DEMF was founded in 2000 by Paxahau Event Productions, a Detroit-based events and promotions company. The first edition of the festival was held on Memorial Day weekend in May 2000. Since its inception, the festival has been held every year except for 2003 (when it was cancelled due to the municipal strike in Detroit) and 2009 (when it was moved to Hart Plaza due to construction at Belle Isle).
