Who is nominated for the Grammy?
The Grammy for Best Electronic Music Album is set to be awarded during the 62nd annual Grammy Awards, which will take place on January 26, 2020. As in previous years, the nominees for the award are a mix of well-known and up-and-coming artists. The five nominees for the award are as follows:
-Bonobo, “Migration”
-The Chemical Brothers, “No Geography”
-Flume, “Hi This Is Flume”
-Kygo, “Kids in Love”
-Tycho, “Weather”
All five of the nominated albums are excellent examples of electronic music at its best, and any one of them could take home the Grammy. However, my personal favorite is Flume’s “Hi This Is Flume.” I think this album is a perfect example of how electronic music can be both complex and accessible at the same time. It’s an amazing album that I think deserves to win the Grammy.

What are their albums like?
Grimes – Miss_Anthropocene
Many of the songs on Miss_Anthropocene are love songs, but they’re not your typical love songs. They’re about the love between humans and technology, and the ways that technology can both help and harm relationships. The album is full of catchy pop hooks and synth-based beats, but there’s also a dark undertone to many of the lyrics.
Rüfüs du Sol – Solace
Solace is an ethereal and atmospheric album that takes listeners on a journey through sound. The Australian trio expertly blends elements of house, techno, and pop to create a unique listening experience. The album is both danceable and introspective, and it’s sure to please fans of all three genres.
Tycho – Weather
Weather is a chilled-out electronic album that’s perfect for relaxing or studying to. The beats are slow and mellow, and the synths are dreamy and atmospheric. This isn’t an album that will get your heart racing, but it’s perfect for moments when you need to wind down.
Who is the favorite to win?
The favorite to win the Grammy for Best Electronic Music Album is Illenium. Illenium, whose real name is Nicholas D. Miller, is a Denver-based producer who has released three albums, including his Grammy-nominated album “Awake.” Illenium’s music has been described as “a mix of melodic bass and emotional soundscapes,” and he has won praise from critics for his ability to fuse together disparate genres like dubstep, trap, and trance.
Other contenders for the award include TOKiMONSTA, who is nominated for her album “Lune Rouge,” andBonobo, who is nominated for his album “Migration.” Both artists are respected producers who have received critical acclaim for their work, but Illenium is the clear favorite to take home the Grammy.
The winner
Who will ultimately take home the Grammy?
The Grammy for Best Electronic Music Album has been around since 2014, but this is the first year that it will be given out at the main ceremony. The nominees are Flume, Mura Masa, Odesza, Sylvan Esso, and The Chainsmokers.
So, who will ultimately take home the Grammy? It’s hard to say. All of the nominees are deserving of the award, but it’s anyone’s guess as to who the Academy will ultimately choose.
Personally, I think Odesza has the best chance of winning. They had a hugely successful year with their album ‘A Moment Apart’, and they’ve been nominated for several other Grammys as well. Plus, they already have one Grammy under their belt (for Best Dance Recording in 2015), so they definitely have the Academy’s attention.
However, Mura Masa and Sylvan Esso both had excellent years as well, so they could easily take home the award as well. It’s impossible to predict who will win in this category, but one thing is for sure: it’s going to be a close race.
Why did they win?
This year’s Grammy for Best Electronic Music Album goes toRL Grime for “Nova.” Why? Because it’s an excellent album, Pure and simple. There isn’t much more to it than that.
Best Electronic Music Album is a category that hasn’t been around all that long, only being introduced in 2014. But in that short time, it has become one of the most prestigious awards in the genre. Last year’s winner was Bonobo for “Migration,” and this year’s winner is RL Grime for “Nova.”
So why did they win? Well, there isn’t one answer to that question. Each year, the Grammy committee looks at all of the eligible albums and tries to find the one that they think is the best. And this year, they decided that RL Grime’s “Nova” was the best electronic music album of 2018.
There are a lot of different factors that go into their decision-making process, but ultimately it comes down to pure quality. And “Nova” is an excellent album, pure and simple. There isn’t much more to it than that.
