After a four year absence from the music scene, Kirk Franklin is back with his tenth studio album, “The Rebirth of Kirk Franklin.” This album is a return to Franklin’s gospel roots, and features many well-known contemporary gospel artists such as Marvin Sapp, Tamela Mann, and Tye Tribbett. If you’re a fan of Kirk Franklin’s previous work, or if you’re looking for a good contemporary gospel album to add to your collection, this is definitely one to check out.

Tamela Mann- Best Days

Best Days is the ninth studio album by American Gospel singer Tamela Mann. It was released on August 26, 2016, by Tillymann Music Group and EOne Music. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard Top Gospel Albums chart.

The album’s lead single “God Provides” peaked at number one on the Billboard Hot Gospel Songs chart.

Tasha Cobbs- Heart. Passion. Pursuit.

If you are a fan of Gospel music, then you surely know the name Tasha Cobbs. She is a contemporary Gospel singer who has taken the music world by storm with her powerful voice and moving lyrics. Her latest album, “Heart. Passion. Pursuit.” is a collection of songs that will inspire you and get your toes tapping.

The title track, “Heart. Passion. Pursuit.” is an upbeat song that will get you moving and praising God. “I’m Getting Ready” is a slower song that is perfect for reflection and worship. “Greater is He” is a ballad that will make you feel the presence of God. “Your Presence” is a beautiful song that will make you feel at peace.

James Cleveland- Live in Anaheim

James Cleveland was a gospel singer, songwriter, and choir director who played a major role in the development of gospel music. He was born in 1931 in Chicago, Illinois, and began singing gospel music as a child. He joined the Gospel Clefs when he was just 18 years old, and went on to lead the group for many years. In 1957, he founded the Southern California Community Choir, which went on to become one of the most successful gospel choirs in history. He recorded dozens of albums over the course of his career, many of which are considered classics of the genre. James Cleveland passed away in 1991, but his music continues to inspire and uplift people all over the world.

The Mighty Clouds of Joy- He’s Able

The Mighty Clouds of Joy are a gospel music group. Formed in 1953, the group has had a long and successful career. Their most recent album, He’s Able, was released in 2014.

He’s Able is a traditional gospel album that features fourteen tracks. The album includes classic gospel songs such as “Old Time Religion,” “Amazing Grace,” and “He’s Got the Whole World in His Hands.” In addition to these classics, the album also features two original songs, “He’s Able” and “Walking by Faith.”

The Fairfield Four- I Couldn’t Hear Nobody Pray

The Fairfield Four is a Nashville-based a cappella gospel group that formed in the early 1920s. The group’s name comes from Fairfield Baptist Church, where they first began singing together. Throughout their long career, the Fairfield Four has toured with many of the biggest names in gospel music and recorded with a wide range of artists, including Mahalia Jackson, Mavis Staples, Steve Earle, and Elvis Presley.

I Couldn’t Hear Nobody Pray is the Fairfield Four’s first album in over 20 years, and it features some of the group’s most beloved songs, including “I’m Working on a Building,” “Lonesome Valley,” and “Wade in the Water.” The album also includes several new songs written specifically for the Fairfield Four by some of today’s top gospel songwriters.

Since Israel Houghton’s debut album in 1996, the gospel singer/songwriter has earned five Grammy Awards, an American Music Award, 17 Stellar Gospel Music Awards, and 13 Dove Awards. But Israel’s latest musical project is different from anything he’s done before. Love God. Love People. (recorded live during a sold-out concert at Lakewood Church in Houston) is a collection of brand new songs that are personal anthems for Israel as well as promises to live by. “This record is about the challenges, the triumphs, and the journey of my faith,” says Israel. “It’s about wrestling with God and winning! It’s about making mistakes and getting back up again.”

Kari Jobe- The Garden

Kari Jobe, who is apart of the Jesus Culture team, released her album The Garden in early 2017. The title track takes listeners on a journey starting in the Garden of Eden where everything was perfect and then brings them to the cross where Jesus faced all of our sin and shame so we could be forgiven and have eternal life. Jobe’s passion for worship shines through every song on this album as she leads listeners to praise God for His never-ending love and grace.
