Beyoncé

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter (/biːˈjɒnseɪ/ bee-YON-say) (born September 4, 1981) is an American singer, songwriter, record producer and actress. Born and raised in Houston, Texas, she performed in various singing and dancing competitions as a child, and rose to fame in the late 1990s as lead singer of R&B girl-group Destiny’s Child. Managed by her father, Mathew Knowles, the group became one of the world’s best-selling girl groups of all time.[1] Their hiatus saw Beyoncé’s theatrical film debut in Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002) and the release of her first solo album, Dangerously in Love (2003). The album established her as a solo artist worldwide,[2][3] earned five Grammy Awards,[4][5] and featured the Billboard Hot 100 number-one singles “Crazy in Love” and “Baby Boy”.

After breaking up with Ray J in 2007, she dated rapper Jay Z. The couple married secretly in 2008. In April 2010, Beyoncé gave birth to their daughter Blue Ivy Carter;[6] during The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour the following year she announced that she was pregnant with twins — son Sir Carter and daughter Rumi Carter — who were born via emergency Caesarean section on June 13, 2017.[7][8] Her marriage to Jay Z and portrayal of Etta James in Cadillac Records (2008) influenced her third album I Am… Sasha Fierce (2008), which saw the introduction of her alter-ego Sasha Fierce[9][10] and earned a record-setting six Grammy Awards in 2010, including Song of the Year for “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)”. Beyoncé took a hiatus from music after giving birth to Blue Ivy until selecting Kendrick Lamar to collaborate on “Partition”, which features on her eponymous fifth album Beyoncé (2013). During this time she gave birth to twins Rumi and Sir Carter. Her collaborative album with Jay Z Everything Is Love was released later that year under their joint moniker The Carters. Following several high-profile performance cancellations due to pregnancy rumors,[11] Beyoncé again resumed performing later that year with guest vocals on several songs by other artists including rapper JAY-Z’s “Family Feud”.

In 2018 Beyoncé starred alongside Donald Glover in the musical drama film remake Lion King as Nala.[12] That same year she contributed vocals toEd Sheeran’s song “Perfect Duet”, which peaked at number four on Billboard Hot 100.[13][14][15] She also released two songs from The Lion King: The Gift soundtrack (“Spirit” and “Bigger”), both reaching number one on Hot R&B Songs chart.[16][17] In 2019 she voiced Miss Mishu for The Angry Birds Movie 2.[18][19]”
