How Jack Watson got started in music
Captain Jack Watson is a blues music artist who has been playing music for over 50 years. He got his start in the music business when he was just a teenager.
“I was about 15 years old when I started playing music professionally. I started out playing in clubs and bars around my hometown of Detroit, Michigan. I eventually started touring with some of the biggest names in blues music, including B.B. King and John Lee Hooker.”
Watson has released several albums over the course of his career, and he continues to play live shows all over the world.
What kind of music does Jack Watson play?
Jack Watson is a well-known musician in the blues scene. His music career started when he was just a teenager and he hasn’t looked back since.
“I play a mix of blues, jazz, and rock n’ roll. I like to mix things up and keep my sound fresh. I think that’s what my fans enjoy about my music too.”
Jack has released several albums over the years, both as a solo artist and with his band The Jack Watson Band. He’s toured all over the world and played at some of the most prestigious blues festivals.
“My favourite thing about playing music is just getting up on stage and doing what I love. I feel so lucky that I get to do this for a living.”

Some of my musical influences come from the blues, soul, and R&B music I heard while growing up in Memphis, TN. I’m also influenced by the music of New Orleans, where I lived for many years. My biggest influences, though, are the greats of the blues: B.B. King, Junior Parker, Howlin’ Wolf, and Muddy Waters.
Jack Watson’s Life
Jack Watson was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1961. Jack’s father was a guitar player and singer, and his mother was a piano player. When he was just a child, his parents divorced and he moved with his mother to Los Angeles, California. Jack’s father passed away when he was only eight years old. When he was sixteen, he started playing the blues.

Jack Watson was born and raised in the small town of Clarksdale, Mississippi. He started playing music at a young age, and by the time he was a teenager, he was already performing in local clubs. He cited John Lee Hooker and Muddy Waters as two of his biggest influences.
Watson moved to Chicago in the early 1970s, and it was there that he really developed his style. He started working with some of the top blues artists of the time, including Junior Wells and Buddy Guy. He also began to make a name for himself as a solo artist, releasing his first album in 1974.
Over the next few years, Watson continued to tour and record, both with other artists and on his own. His most recent album, “Captain Jack’s Blues Band”, was released in 2012.

He continued to play and tour throughout the United States and Europe until his retirement in the 1990s. Jack Watson died in Memphis, Tennessee, in 2001.
