The band has dipped into many different genres, including visual kei, experimental rock, nu metal, gothic metal and doom metal. They have been through numerous lineup changes, with vocalist Kyo the only original founding member remaining in the group.

The band’s first album Gauze was released in 1999, which reached number two on the Oricon indies chart and number four on the main Oricon chart. Their second album Macabre was released in 2000 and reached number one on the Oricon indies chart as well as number five on the main chart. Following extensive touring to support their albums, Kyo suffered from vocal nodules which forced the band to take a break from recording and touring for several months.
