Latin American Music Awards
The Latin American Music Awards is an annual awards show that celebrates Latin American music. This year’s show was held on October 20, 2020, and was hosted by Ricky Martin. The show was aired on Telemundo.
Winners
This year’s show, hosted by Gente de Zona, Prince Royce and Leslie Grace, was held virtually for the first time due to the ongoing pandemic. Still, the evening was full of memorable moments, including a moving tribute to Selena Quintanilla and performances from some of today’s biggest Latin superstars.

Best Regional Mexican Artist
The 2021 Latin American Music Awards were held on Thursday, April 15, and hosted virtually by spoof duo Oswaldo and Rulo from the Mexican late-night TV show Otro Rollo.Mexican artists led the pack with nine wins apiece, followed by Brazilians with eight and Colombians with four.

Latin Grammy Awards
The Latin Grammy Awards are awards presented by The Latin Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievement in the Latin music industry. The 2021 ceremony will be held on November 19, 2021, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Winners
The 2021 Latin Grammy Awards were held on November 19, 2020, at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida. The show was hosted by Ricky Martin and Rosario Dawson.
A total of 84 awards were presented. The night’s biggest winners were Bad Bunny and J Balvin, who each won four awards. Daddy Yankee won three awards, including Song of the Year for “Con Calma”. Banda MS won two awards, including Record of the Year for “Todo Lo Que Siento”.

The Latin Grammy Award for Best New Artist is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally.
Since its inception, the award has been given to twelve different artists. Alejandro Fernández was the first winner of the award for his work on his eponymous album in 2000. He is also the only artist to win the award twice, doing so for his albums A Corazón Abierto in 2006 and Confidencias Reales in 2013. In 2001, Javier Garcia became the first posthumous winner of the award after his death in a plane crash while touring in Spain.
The youngest winner is Maná, who won at age 37 for their album Drama y Luz. The oldest recipient is Brazilian singer Elis Regina, who was 54 when she won for her live album Elis & Tom posthumously in 1986. Before 2017, only two women had won Best New Artist: Beatriz Luengo and Sharkey López. In 2017 Kany García became the third female artist to win when she received the award for her album Soy Yo.
In 2021, Gabrielle won Best New Artist.
Best Regional Mexican Music Album
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Regional Mexican Music Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is given to solo artists or groups originating from the Mexican music genre for albums containing at least 51% of new recordings in Spanish.
This award was first presented at the 1st Latin Grammy Awards ceremony in 2000. Grupo Montez de Durango was the first winner of this award for the album En Vivo Desde Durango. As of 2020, eight musical groups or solo artists have won this award. Mariachi Divas de Cindy Shea are the most awarded performers in this category with two wins.
Since its inception, only two albums have been nominated more than once. Ana Gabriel has received three nominations for her live albums En Concierto (2001), En Vivo (2007) and Joyas Prestadas: En Vivo (2008). Jenni Rivera received two nominations posthumously for her live albums La Diva en Vivo (2012) and Jenni Rivera Presents: The Last Concert (2013).
Best Urban Fusion/Performance
The Latin Grammy Award for Best Urban Fusion/Performance is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is given to a solo artist or a duet/group for urban performances combining vocal and/or instrumental tracks.
