Rudy started to play guitar at the age of 12, under the influence of his father Armando Caesar, a well-known and respected musician in Venezuela. Rudy’s paternal grandfather was an important guitar maker in Caracas. From a very young age Rudy was exposed to different genres of music including Latin American Folkloric music, Cuban Son, Venezuelan Joropo and Gaita, Colombian Cumbia and Vallenato as well as North American Jazz and Popular music.
As a teenager he had the opportunity to play with some of the most important Venezuelan Folkloric groups such as “Los Tamunangos” led by maestro Alirio Díaz and “Los Hermanos Lopez”. He also played with well-known Venezuelans jazz musicians such as Pancho Quinto, Aldemaro Romero and Edgardo Abel Casanova. In 1992 Rudy moved to Houston, Texas to pursue his musical career.
