Latin Grammy Awards

The Latin Grammy Awards are awards by The Latin Recording Academy to recognize outstanding achievement in the Latin music industry. The Latin Grammy Awards were established in 2000 and are presented annually in the United States. The ceremony honoring the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards ganadores was held on November 19, 2020.

Best Latin Pop or Urban Album

The Latin Grammy Awards are an annual award ceremony that recognizes and rewards excellence in the Latin music industry. The 2021 Latin Grammy Awards will be held on November 19, 2021, in Miami, Florida.

This year’s Latin Grammy Awards will feature a new category, “Best Latin Pop or Urban Album”. This category is for albums that contain at least 51% of new recordings, and are either pop or urban in genre. eligibility requirements also state that the album must have been released between July 1, 2020, and June 30, 2021.

Some of the nominees for this year’s Latin Grammy Awards “Best Latin Pop or Urban Album” include J Balvin’s “Colores”, Bad Bunny’s “YHLQMDLG”, Ozuna’s “NuNu”, and Romeo Santos’ “Utopia”.

Best Regional Mexican Music Album (including Tejano)

The Best Regional Mexican Music Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is given to solo artists, duos, or groups for vocal or instrumental Regional Mexican albums containing at least 51% of new recordings.

This year’s winner is “Un Canto Por México, Vol. 1” by Natalia Lafourcade.

Best Tropical Latin Album

The Latin Grammy Award for Best Tropical Latin Album is an award presented at the Latin Grammy Awards, a ceremony that recognizes excellence and promotes a wider awareness of cultural diversity and contributions of Latin recording artists in the United States and internationally. The award is given to solo artists or bands for vocal or instrumental tropical albums. It is one of the four genre-specific field awards that are recognized each year in rotation.

As of the 20th Annual Latin Grammy Awards (2019), six different albums have won the award. Calle 13’s Entren Los Que Quieran is the most awarded album in this category with three wins. Dominican singer-songwriter Juan Luis Guerra has been presented with the award twice: once for his work on A Son de Guerra (2010) and again for his work on Todo Tiene Su Hora (2017). Other winners include Silvestre Dangond (for Día Normal), Ursula 1000 (for Galleria), and Diego El Cigala & Pontelloworks Sinfonica Nacional De Venezuela (for Indestructible).

Billboard Latin Music Awards

The Billboard Latin Music Awards is an annual awards show honoring the best Latin musicians. The show was created by the Billboard magazine in 1994 and is produced by Telemundo. This year’s show was held on April 27, 2021, in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Latin Pop Album of the Year

This is a list of the winners and nominees for the Latin Pop Album of the Year at the Billboard Latin Music Awards.

Latin Pop Album of the Year is an accolade that has been presented annually at the Billboard Latin Music Awards since 1995. The award is given to “the artist or artists who deliver the most outstanding pop album performance in Spanish or Portuguese.” Winners and nominees are determined by Billboard magazine and the voting panel, which consists of music retail merchants and radio programmers who specialize in Latin music.

The Latin Rhythm Album of the Year was first presented in 2001. It was created to recognize the best Latin albums with a predominance of rhythm and dance music. The award is given to the album’s performer, producer, and recording engineer.

In 2021, the award went to Ozuna for his album “Nu nibiru”.

Latin Rock, Alternative or Urban Album of the Year

The Latin Rock, Alternative or Urban Album of the Year is an award presented annually by the American music magazine Billboard to the best rock, alternative or urban album released in the United States by a Latin act. The award was first presented in 2001 and has been given out every year since then with the exception of 2003, when it was not awarded.

Latin American Music Awards

The Latin American Music Awards (LAMA) is an annual Latin music awards show that is broadcasted live on the Telemundo network. The show honors the best performers in the Latin music industry and is one of the most prestigious award shows in the Latin music world. This year’s show was hosted by Ricky Martin and featured many amazing performances.

Latin Pop Album of the Year

Anuel AA’s second studio album, Emmanuel, was released in December 2020. The album debuted at number one on the US Billboard Top Latin Albums chart and features the singles “Me Fuí”, “Ella Quiere Beber”, and “Keii”.

Latin Rhythm Album of the Year

The Latin Rhythm Album of the Year is an award given annually by the American music magazine Billboard at the Latin Grammy Awards. The award is presented to recordings in the Latin rhythm genres, defined as “salsa, merengue, bachata, reggaeton and related styles”. From 2001 until 2011, albums were eligible if they were released within the eligibility period; beginning with the 2012 awards year, albums are eligible regardless of release date.

In addition to the general field award, there are four honors for Best Album in specific genres: Best Salsa/Merengue Album, Best Bachata Album, Best Reggeaton Album and Best Cumbia/Vallenato Album. The categorical awards were first presented at the 5th Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2004.

Latin Rock, Alternative or Urban Album of the Year

This award is presented to the artist of the year in the Latin rock, alternative or urban genre.
