Leading the pack
With eight nominations each, Bad Bunny and J Balvin are leading the pack at this year’s Latin Music Awards.
The two artists are up for awards including Artist of the Year, Song of the Year, and Best Male Artist. Other nominees include Ozuna, Shakira, Karol G, and Anuel AA.
The 2021 Latin Music Awards will be broadcast live on April 15 from Miami.
The nominees
The nominees for the 2021 Latin Music Awards have been announced, and it’s shaping up to be a competitive year. In the running for Artist of the Year are Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Ozuna, Rosalía and Sebastian Yatra.
For Album of the Year, the nominees are: Anuel AA’s “Emmanuel,” Bad Bunny’s “YHLQMDLG,” J Balvin’s “Colores,” Ozuna’s “Nibiru” and Rosalía’s “El Mal Querer.”
The Song of the Year nominees are: Bad Bunny’s “Dakiti,” J Balvin and Justin Bieber’s “Un Dia (One Day),” Ozuna and Camilo’s “Despeinada,” Rauw Alejandro and Camilo’s “Tattoo” and Reykon featuring Maluma’s “Latina.”

The awards
The Latin Grammy Awards are an annual awards show that features recordings by Latin musicians. The show is produced by the Latin Recording Academy and is broadcast live on television. The 2021 show will take place on November 19, 2021, at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. This will be the first time in history that the ceremony will be held outside of Los Angeles or Miami.
The nominees for the 2021 Latin Grammy Awards were announced on September 8, 2021. Leading the pack with nine nominations is Mexican singer-songwriter Natalia Lafourcade, followed by Puerto Rican reggaeton duo Rauw Alejandro and Venezuelan singer-songwriter Reykon with eight nominations each. Puerto Rican singer Bad Bunny earned seven nods, while Colombian singer J Balvin received six nominations.

The night’s big winners
The Latin Grammy Awards are bestowed annually by The Latin Recording Academy to recognize excellence and promote Latin music worldwide. This year’s show, hosted by Alicia Keys, J Balvin and Miguel, took place on November 19 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami.
The night’s big winners included Bad Bunny, who took home five awards including Album of the Year for YHLQMDLG, and Rosalía, who won four awards including Best Urban Fusion/Performance for “Yo x Ti, Tu x Mi.” In the Best New Artist category, Colombian reggaeton artist Anuel AA won the award.
Other notable winners included Ozuna (three awards), Karol G (two awards), Camilo (two awards), Puerto Rican rock band Calle 13 (one award), and Argentine singer Lali (one award).
