The Great American Music Hall was originally built as an Italianate ballroom by architect G. Albert Lansburgh and opened on New Year’s Eve in 1907. It was called “The Spanish Ballroom” when it first opened, and “The Valley Music Hall” during the early 1920s, before being renamed “The Great American Music Hall” in 1926.
