The Music City Jazz Festival is returning for its 11th year in 2018! Check out the schedule to see who’s playing when and where.

Music City Jazz Festival 2018 Schedule

The Music City Jazz Festival 2018 schedule has been released, and it is packed with great performances! The festival will take place on Thursday, August 2 – Sunday, August 5, 2018 at various venues throughout Nashville.

On Thursday, the festival will kick off with a concert at Nashville’s historic Ryman Auditorium featuring Grammy-winning trumpeter Terence Blanchard. Blanchard will be joined by the E-Collective, a group of young jazz musicians who are making their mark on the genre.

Other highlights of the festival include a performance by saxophonist Greg Ward and his band Rogue Parade at The Basement East, and a concert by New York-based Afrobeat ensemble Antibalas at Mercy Lounge.

On Saturday, the festival will move to Centennial Park for a day of free concerts. Performers include world-renowned jazz pianist Ramsey Lewis, Grammy-nominated vocalist Nnenna Freelon, and many more.

The Music City Jazz Festival will be held at various venues throughout Nashville from June 28-July 1. The full schedule is below.

June 28:

June 29:

Music City Jazz Festival 2018 Tickets

The Music City Jazz Festival will feature some of the best local and national jazz performers from August 10-12, 2018. The three-day event will take place at locations throughout Nashville, TN. A limited number of VIP tickets are available, which include access to a special VIP lounge and seating areas at select performances. Advance purchase is strongly encouraged.

Music City Jazz Festival 2018 Transportation

Due to the large amount of road construction in Nashville, we strongly encourage festival attendees to use public transportation, ride sharing services, or car pools to get to and from the event.

The Music City Jazz Festival will have a FREE shuttle running continuously between Downtown Nashville and the festival site at Cumberland Park on Saturday and Sunday. The shuttle will run approximately every 15 minutes from 10:00am until 10:00pm on both days.

Food & drink will be available for purchase on site at the Music City Jazz Festival 2018. A variety of vendors will be present, offering a range of items including vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free options.

Music City Jazz Festival 2018 History

The Music City Jazz Festival was started in 2001 by jazz enthusiasts Wayne and Nancy Coleman. After attending the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival several times, they decided to bring a similar event to Nashville. The first Music City Jazz Festival was held in September of 2001, and featured local, regional, and national jazz acts.

In the years since its inception, the Music City Jazz Festival has become one of the premier jazz events in the southeastern United States. The festival is held annually in Nashville’s historic Centennial Park, and features a wide variety of jazz performers from around the world.
