New Music Releases

It’s a new day, which means there are new music releases for you to enjoy. From hip hop to pop, there’s something for everyone. Check out the list below for the best new music releases of the day.

J. Cole – “The Climb Back”

After a three-year hiatus, Cole is back with a new single, “The Climb Back.” The track was produced by Cole and T-Minus, and it’s a return to form for the rapper. “The Climb Back” is a introspective look at Cole’s career, and it finds him reflecting on his journey from humble beginnings to global stardom.

Lil Baby – “The Bigger Picture”

On June 2, 2020, Lil Baby released “The Bigger Picture”, a song in response to the George Floyd protests. The song addresses police brutality, specifically referencing the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Ahmaud Arbery, Breonna Taylor, and George Floyd. In the song, Lil Baby implores listeners to “stay inside” due to the COVID-19 pandemic and not put themselves in danger for the sake of protesting.

Kendrick Lamar – “DNA.”

Kendrick Lamar is one of the most popular rappers in the game right now, and for good reason. He consistently puts out great music, and his latest release is no different. “DNA.” is the lead single off of his upcoming album DAMN., and it’s a banger. The beat is catchy and infectious, and Kendrick’s lyrics are as sharp as ever. If this is any indication of what the rest of the album will sound like, we’re in for a treat.

Best Hip Hop Songs of 2020 (So Far)

2020 has been a great year for hip hop, with a lot of new artists and songs emerging. In this article, we’ll be taking a look at the best hip hop songs of 2020 (so far).

J. Cole – “MIDDLE CHILD”

Over a high-powered rock-sampled beat, Cole shares his life story of goofing off in school, getting in trouble, but eventually finding his niche and making the most of it. He also touches on how he’s able to relate to both older and younger generations, and how he wants to be an example for people who come from similar backgrounds. “Middle Child” is Cole at his best: A top-notch rapper sharing his life story over a certified banger of a beat.

Lil Baby – “SUM 2 PROVE”

As the follow-up to his 2018 full-length Harder Than Ever, Lil Baby’s sophomore effort Street Gossip dropped on November 30, 2018. The 13-track record reflected the volatile energy of Lil Baby’s hometown Atlanta with features from Young Thug, 2 Chainz, and Gunna. Similar to its predecessor, Street Gossip debuted in the Top Five of the Billboard 200. Nearly a year later, he returned with “Global” — his first single of 2019 that eventually landed on his third album My Turn. The project debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 and featured “Sum 2 Prove.” The song received a bump after Lil Baby performed it during halftime of an Atlanta Hawks game in March 2020.

Kendrick Lamar – “HUMBLE.”

Kendrick Lamar’s piping hot new single “HUMBLE.” has only been out for a few days, but it’s already making a huge impact. The track debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is currently sitting comfortably at the top of Spotify’s Global Viral 50 and U.S. Viral 50 charts.
