Introduction
The Billboard Latin Music Awards is an annual awards show that recognize the commercial achievements of Latin recording artists in the United States. The ceremony was first held in 1994 and has been broadcast live on television every year since. The show is broadcast on the Univision network and is produced by Dick Clark Productions.
This year’s show was held on April 28, 2016 at the BankUnited Center in Miami, Florida. Pitbull and Gente de Zona led the nominations with eleven each, followed by Enrique Iglesias with ten. Iglesias went on to win eight awards, including Artist of the Year and Male Artist of the Year, becoming the most awarded artist in the history of the Billboard Latin Music Awards with fifty-five career wins.
