About the Solo

This solo is for a beginner to intermediate player. It is in the key of C and isYes, 4 measures long. The tempo is 120 beats per minute.

This is a great solo to practice playing with a band. You can play along with the audio track or with other instruments.

Enjoy!

Tips for Playing the Solo

Once you have the solo transcribed, it is important to spend some time analyzing it. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of your practice:

-Identify the key and tempo of the solo. This will help you know what range to play in and how fast or slow to play the solo.
-Listen to a recording of the solo. This will help you get an idea of how the solo should sound and give you an idea of the phrasing used by the trumpeter.
-Practice the solo slowly at first. Once you have memorized the solo, you can begin to increase the tempo.
-Pay attention to dynamics and articulation. These are important elements of jazz trumpet playing and will help give your solo more character.
– Experiment with different interpretations of the solo. You may want to try different chord progressions or substitutions to see how they affect the sound of the solo.

The Solo

Welcome to my blues trumpet solo. This is a typical 12 bar blues in the key of Bb. The first 4 bars are the same as a typical blues in Bb. The next 4 bars introduce the soloist. The 9th and 10th bars are the turnaround. The last 2 bars are the outro.

Part 3

Now let’s check out Part 3 of the solo. This section starts with a pickup to beat 4 of measure 9, and continues through measure 16. The first phrase in this section is 8 measures long and starts on the “and” of beat 4 in measure 9. The second phrase is 8 measures long as well, and starts on the “and” of beat 2 in measure 13.

In this section, the majority of the notes are 8th notes, with a few quarter notes and 16th notes thrown in for good measure. There are also several syncopated rhythms, which can be a bit challenging to play at first. Just take your time and count out the rhythms carefully before you start playing. And once you get comfortable with this section, you can start to play around with the dynamics and articulations to add your own personal touch.
