Soul Train Music Awards: Album of the Year
The 2017 Soul Train Music Awards will be held on Sunday, November 26, 2017 at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The show will air live on BET and Centric at 8pm EST.
Introduction
The Soul Train Music Awards is an annual music award ceremony that honors the best in African American music. The awards were established in 1987 by Don Cornelius, host and creator of the long-running television dance program Soul Train.
The Soul Train Music Awards are awarded in various categories, with the top prize being the Album of the Year award. This award is given to the artist or group who has released the best album of the year, as determined by a panel of judges.
Past recipients of the Album of the Year award include Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Stevie Wonder.
