What is Techno?

Influenced by Kraftwerk, Giorgio Moroder, Phil Collins’s work with Peter Gabriel, and Yellow Magic Orchestra’s use of synthesizers and drum machines, they created an updated version of electro for the 1980s.

The Mayday rave in Berlin during 1991 was one of the first commercially successful techno events. It inspired subsequent acid house and rave parties around the world during the early 1990s.
