Introduction
“Uptown Funk” is a song by British record producer Mark Ronson from his fourth studio album, Uptown Special (2015), featuring American singer and rapper Bruno Mars. The song was released as the album’s lead single on 10 November 2014 in the United Kingdom and on 17 November 2014 in the United States. co-written by Ronson, Mars, Jeff Bhasker and Philip Lawrence with additional writing credits from Nicholas Williams (“Trampoline”), “Uptown Funk” became a worldwide success, topping multiple record charts including the Billboard Hot 100 for seven consecutive weeks.
The song’s music video features Ronson, Mars and their respective bands dancing around a city block in Brooklyn, New York City. As of June 2020, the video has received over 3.49 billion views on YouTube.
