Today’s hip hop music is a far cry from what it used to be. In this blog post, we take a look at the good, the bad, and the ugly of today’s hip hop music.

The Good

While some hip hop music can be derogatory and promote violence, there is also a lot of good hip hop out there that is uplifting and positive. This type of hip hop often contains messages about staying in school, working hard, and being positive. Some good examples of these types of songs are “Hey Ya!” by Outkast, “Lose Yourself” by Eminem, and “You Gotta Be” by Des’ree.

The Bad

Today’s hip hop music is often criticized for being too sexually explicit, violent, and misogynistic. While there are certainly some songs that fit this description, it’s important to remember that not all hip hop is like this. There is a lot of good hip hop out there that doesn’t objectify women, promote violence, or use profanity.

The Ugly

Today’s hip hop music has come under fire for its explicit lyrics and glorification of violence. Some believe that the music is a negative influence on today’s youth. Others argue that the music is a reflection of the harsh reality that many young people face. Whatever your opinion, there is no denying that hip hop music can be controversial.
