Blake Shelton- “God Gave Me You”
“God Gave Me You” is a song recorded by American country music artist Blake Shelton. It was released in July 2011 as the fourth single from his album Red River Blue. The song was written by Dave Barnes, who had sent it to Shelton in the hope that he would record it. After hearing the song, Shelton agreed to record it. Critics were divided in their opinions of the song, with some declaring it as one of the best tracks on Red River Blue and others feeling that it was not country enough. However, most praised Shelton’s vocal performance.
The accompanying music video for “God Gave Me You” was directed by Chris Hicky and features Shelton’s then-wife Miranda Lambert. It tells the story of a couple who are going through a difficult time and how they are able to overcome it with the help of their faith. “God Gave Me You” received positive reviews from critics, who praised the video’s faith-based message and Lambert’s appearance in it. The video won an Inspirational Country Music Award and was nominated for Music Video of the Year at the British Country Music Association Awards.
Zac Brown Band- “Chicken Fried”
This was the first music video for the Zac Brown Band, and it was shot in the band’s hometown of Atlanta, GA. The video features the band performing in a bar, as well as footage of them hanging out and having fun together. “Chicken Fried” was a huge hit for the band, spending four weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Country chart.
Keith Urban- “But for the Grace of God”
In 2001, Keith Urban was struggling with alcoholism and on the brink of losing everything when he released “But for the Grace of God.” The song is a powerful testimony to the role that faith played in his recovery, and the video features footage of Urban’s real-life struggle interspersed with shots of him performing the song. It’s a moving testimony to the power of redemption, and it’s one of the most popular country music videos of all time.
Lady Antebellum- “Need You Now”
This video is a perfect example of a light roast. The beans are roasted for a shorter amount of time, resulting in a light brown color. The flavor is milder and there is no oil on the surface of the beans.
Miranda Lambert- “The House That Built Me”
Number five on our list is Miranda Lambert’s “The House That Built Me.” Directed by Trey Fanjoy, the video tells the story of a home being passed down through generations. It’s a simple concept, but it resonates on a deep level. The combination of Lambert’s emotional performance and the sentimental visuals make for a powerful and affecting music video.
