Best Urban Performance
The Latin American Music Awards (LAMAS) were held on Thursday night (April 15) to honor the best in Latin music, and while the show was pre-taped, the quality of the performances were top-notch. From Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez’s emotional “Dakiti” performance to Ozuna’s fun “En La Intimidad” medley, there was no shortage of great moments. Here are the best videos from the show.
Bad Bunny – “Dakiti”

The Best Urban Performance goes to Bad Bunny and Jhay Cortez for “Dakiti.” This performance was everything we wanted it to be: fun, high-energy, and full of vibrance. The duo brought the heat with their sizzling chemistry and had us all dancing along. It was the perfect way to kick off the show and set the tone for an amazing night of music.
Jhay Cortez, J. Balvin – “No Me Conoce”
Cortez and Balvin team up for a reggaeton banger that’s all about trying to keep a low profile in the club, but still getting recognized by that special someone. The track’s accompanying video was filmed in Medellín, Colombia, and features cameos from Bad Bunny, Dalex and Lary Over.
Ozuna x Karol G – “Hello”
The Latin American Music Awards are here and we have the full list of winners!
One of the biggest winners of the night was Ozuna, who took home the award for Best Urban Performance for his collaboration with Karol G, “Hello.”
The video for “Hello” was shot entirely on an iPhone and features Ozuna and Karol G singing and dancing their way through the streets of New Orleans. The video is a celebration of Latinx culture and features cameos from some of the biggest names in the Latin music scene, including J Balvin, Bad Bunny, and Anuel AA.
Other winners at the Latin American Music Awards include reggaeton superstar J Balvin, who won Artist of the Year, and Bad Bunny, who won Song of the Year for his hit “Mia.”
Best Pop Song
The Latin American Music Awards are upon us and we could not be more excited. This is the one night where all the biggest and brightest stars in Latin music come together to celebrate. CNCO – “Tan Fácil”
CNCO’s “Tan Fácil” was one of the most popular songs of 2021 and it’s no surprise that it won the Latin American Music Award for Best Pop Video. The video, directed by Carlos Perez, features the five members of CNCO in a black-and-white setting with some colorful special effects. The video is simple but stylish, and the song’s catchy hook will stay in your head for days.
Reykon ft. Maluma – “Latina”
Reykon ft. Maluma – “Latina” won the Latin American Music Award for Best Pop Song. The music video features Reykon and Maluma as they respectively sing and rap about a beautiful Latina woman. The video is set in Miami, Florida and features various shots of the city’s skyline and beaches. Reykon and Maluma are seen dancing and flirting with the Latina woman throughout the video.

A.CHAL – “Hollywood’s Bleeding”
A.CHAL’s “Hollywood’s Bleeding” is a haunting look at the dark side of success in the entertainment industry. “China” is a song by Puerto Rican rapper Anuel AA, Jamaican reggae artist Daddy Yankee, Colombian singer Karol G, Puerto Rican reggaeton singer Ozuna and Colombian singer J Balvin. It was released on April 12, 2019, by Real Hasta la Muerte and Humanity’s Promise. The song peaked at number two on the US Billboard Hot Latin Songs chart.
Maluma – “Que Chimba”
Los Angeles – The Latin American Music Awards (LAMAS) announced today that Maluma’s “Que Chimba” is the winner of the “Best Urban Fusion/Performance” Award.
The Colombian superstar was nominated for a total of six awards at this year’s show, including “Artist of the Year” and “Album of the Year”.
Maluma’s critically acclaimed fourth studio album, PAPER BOY, was released in October 2020 and debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Latin Albums chart. The album features the singles “Que Chimba”, “Hawái”, and “Pa’ Ti + Lonely”, which have all topped Billboard’s Latin Airplay chart.
PAPER BOY also includes Maluma’s highly anticipated collaboration with The Weeknd, “Hawái”, which has amassed over 141 million YouTube views since its release in August 2020.
Maluma’s music videos have garnered over 5 billion YouTube views and he is currently the Latin artist with the most subscribers on YouTube, with over 41 million subscribers. His YouTube channel has also been ranked as the 3rd most popular music channel in the world.
Maluma has received numerous awards and accolades throughout his career, including two Grammy Awards, eleven Latin Grammy Awards, nine Billboards Music Awards, twenty-seven Premios Juventud Awards, and four MTV Video Music Awards.
Best Alternative Song
LAMAs is an annual music awards show that is dedicated to awarding the best Latin American music videos of the year. This year, the LAMAs will be held on March 5th, 2021, and will be broadcast live on MTV.
Bad Bunny – “Yo Perreo Sola”
Bad Bunny’s iconic “Yo Perreo Sola” was one of the most talked-about songs of 2020 and it’s no surprise that it won the Latin American Music Award for Best Alternative Song. The track sees Bad Bunny paying tribute to all the strong independent women out there who can hold their own on the dance floor. Tainy, J. Balvin – “Agua”
J. Balvin and Tainy’s music video for “Agua” won Best Alternative Video at the 2021 Latin American Music Awards. Banda Los Sebastianes – “Mi Olvido”
The Latin American Music Awards (often abbreviated as LAMA) is an annual American music awards show that is presented by the television network Telemundo. The awards ceremony recognizes outstanding achievement in the Latin music industry. The show features musical performances by popular artists, and the presentation of awards in various categories.
The award for Best Regional Mexican Song went to “Mi Olvido” by Banda Los Sebastianes. The song is a ballad about heartbreak and forgetting someone you once loved.
Banda Los Sebastianes is a Mexican banda from Mazatlán, Sinaloa. The band was formed in 2002, and has released seven studio albums. “Mi Olvido” is taken from the band’s 2020 album, Tu Piel en mis Manos.
Christian Nodal – “De Los Besos Que Te Di”
The young Mexican singer-songwriter has been on a hot streak for the past few years. His self-titled debut album in 2017 went platinum in Mexico and launched the hit “Adiós Amor.” Nodal followed that up with the 2019 album, “Ahora,” which produced the No. 1 single, “Probablemente.”
Nodal was born in Los Angeles but raised in Rosarito Beach, Baja California, where he began his music career singing mariachi. He has cited influences as varied as Luis Miguel, Selena Quintanilla and Guns N’ Roses.
In “De Los Besos Que Te Di,” Nodal croons about a lost love with a simple guitar accompaniment. The video was shot entirely in black and white near Rosarito Beach.
Jenni Rivera – “La Malquerida”
Jenni Rivera’s “La Malquerida” was released in 2013 as the lead single from her posthumous album, 1969. The song was written by Jenni Rivera and produced by Omar Nava. “La Malquerida” is a ballad about a scorned woman who is finally able to move on from her cheating husband. The song became a smash hit, reaching number one on the US Billboard Regional Mexican Songs chart and winning a Latin American Music Award for Regional Mexican Song of the Year.
