Thursday, August 1st- Dispatch

Formed in Berkeley, CA in the mid-’90s, Dispatch rode an initial wave of popularity to emerge as one of the biggest independent bands of their era. Their unique brand of melodic folk-rock — indebted to jam bands like Phish and Blues Traveler as much as to their own influences like Public Enemy and Fela Kuti — won them a devoted following that remained even after the band members pursued solo projects following their 2002 hiatus. Dispatch returned in 2011 for a reunion tour that generated some of the biggest crowds ever assembled for concerts by an independent band.
