Best New Artist
This year’s Soul Train Music Awards were held on Sunday, November 11 in Las Vegas and hosted by Erykah Badu. The show was packed with performances from some of the biggest names in music, including Miguel, H.E.R., Fantasia, 6lack, Daniel Caesar, Ari Lennox, Ella Mai, and many more.
The awards themselves were dominated by newer artists, with Ella Mai taking home the award for Best New Artist and H.E.R. winning Song of the Year for “Best Part” (her duet with Daniel Caesar). 6lack won Album/Mixtape of the Year for his album East Atlanta Love Letter, while Cardi B won Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year for “Bodak Yellow (Money Moves).”

Best R&B/Soul Female Artist
The 2018 Soul Train Music Awards were held on Sunday, November 11, at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The annual awards show honors the best in soul music, past and present. This year’s show was hosted by TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and actor/comedian Alonzo Bodden.
The night’s big winner was H.E.R., who took home four awards, including Best R&B/Soul Female Artist. Other winners included Khalid (Best R&B/Soul Male Artist), Ella Mai (Best New Artist), Bruno Mars (Song of the Year for “Finesse”), and Migos (Album of the Year for Culture II).

Best R&B/Soul Male Artist
The 2018 Soul Train Music Awards were held on Sunday, November 11th at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas and it was a night to remember! Some of the biggest names in R&B and soul music came together to celebrate the best in the genre and we have the full list of winners for you right here.
The award for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist went to none other than the incredible Bruno Mars! His Acceptance speech was very humble, thanking his fans and all of those who have supported him throughout his career. He also took a moment to give a shout-out to all of the other incredible male artists in the category, including Khalid, Daniel Caesar, and 6LACK. We think it’s safe to say that Bruno Mars is having an amazing year and we can’t wait to see what he does next!
Best R&B/Soul Group, Band or Duo
Miguel, H.E.R., and Ella Mai were among the winners at the 2018 Soul Train Music Awards, which were handed out Sunday night in Las Vegas.
Miguel took home the award for Best R&B/Soul Male Artist, while H.E.R. won Best R&B/Soul Female Artist and Best R&B/Soul Album for her self-titled debut album. Ella Mai won Song of the Year for “Boo’d Up,” her breakout hit single.
Other winners included SZA (The Ashford & Simpson Songwriter’s Award), Khalid (Best New Artist), Daniel Caesar (Best New Artist Alumni), Ledisi (TheCENTRICTV Legacy Award), and Chadwick Boseman, who was honored with the Soul Train Certified Legend Award.
The 2018 Soul Train Music Awards were hosted by Erykah Badu and featured performances by Brandy, Chris Brown, Ciara, H.E.R., Ledisi, Lil Mo, Majid Jordan, Silk Sonic ( Bruno Mars & Anderson .Paak), SZA, Tank, and Twista.
Best Gospel Artist
Kirk Franklin was awarded Best Gospel Artist at the 2018 Soul Train Music Awards.
Song of the Year
And the winner for Song of the Year is…Childish Gambino’s “This Is America”! As one of the most talked about songs and videos of 2018, it was up against some stiff competition, but in the end, it was Childish Gambino’s thought-provoking track that won out.
Best Collaboration
This year’s Soul Train Music Awards were truly a night to remember, with so many amazing performances and touching moments. We were also thrilled to see some of our favorite artists take home top honors!
Best Collaboration went to Bruno Mars and Cardi B for their smash hit “Finesse (Remix)” – congrats, guys!
Best Dance Performance
And the winner is… Bruno Mars! The mega superstar closed out the show with an electrifying performance of his latest hits, “Finesse” and “24K Magic,” but it was his electrifying opening that really had us on our feet. The nine-time Grammy winner started his set in true Old Hollywood style, clad in a white tux and top hat, he burst onto the stage surrounded by a bevy of beautiful dancers. It was a night to remember for sure!
Best Hip-Hop Song of the Year
This year’s best hip-hop song goes to Cardi B for “I Like It.” The track, which features Bad Bunny and J Balvin, is taken from the Bronx rapper’s debut album Invasion of Privacy.
Best International Performance
The 2018 Soul Train Music Awards were held last night (November 11) at the Orleans Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Here are the winners in the Best International Performance category:
