It’s no secret that the 1990s was a great decade for rock music, with a plethora of talented and influential bands emerging from all over the world. But which year was the best?
There are a few contenders for the title of best year in rock music, but 1990 is a strong candidate. That year saw the release of some of the most important and influential albums in rock history, including Nirvana’s “Nevermind,” Pearl Jam’s “Ten,” and Metallica’s “Black Album.” These albums would go on to define the sound of rock music for the next few decades, and their impact is still felt today.
Other years that could lay claim to the title of best year in rock music include 1991 (the year Nirvana released “Smells Like Teen Spirit” and Pearl Jam released “Alive”), 1993 (the year Radiohead released “Pablo Honey” and Nirvana released “In Utero”), and 1997 (the year Radiohead released “OK Computer” and The Verve released “Urban Hymns”).
So which is it? The answer, like with so many things in life, is that it depends on your personal preferences. But there’s no doubt that 1990 was a great year for rock music, and its impact is still being felt today.
