How to Find Classical Music on YouTube

If you’re looking for some classical music to listen to, but you’re not sure where to start, try looking on YouTube. You can find a wealth of classical music videos to suit any taste.
Search for “Classical Music”
When you search for “classical music” on YouTube, you’ll get a bunch of results for live performances, someone playing classical music on the piano, and educational videos about the history of classical music. You can also find a lot of compilations of classical pieces that are perfect for studying or falling asleep to. If you want to be more specific in your search, try adding in the name of a composer or a type of classical music you’re looking for, like “Mozart” or “Beethoven” or “baroque.”
Filter by “Video Type”
When you search for “classical music” on YouTube, you’ll get a mix of live performances, music videos, and educational videos in the results. To filter out the non-musical videos:
1. On the YouTube homepage, start by typing “classical music” into the search bar.
2. On the results page, hover your mouse over the “Filter” button on the left side of the screen.
3. A drop-down menu will appear. Click on “Video Type.”
4. Select “Music Videos” from the list that appears.
Now your search results will only include classical music videos!
Sort by “Relevance”
YouTube’s Music app includes a lot of contemporary music, but if you’re looking for classical tunes, you’ll need to do a little searching. You can find plenty of great classical pieces if you know where to look, though.
To start, open the YouTube Music app and tap on the Search icon. Then, type in the name of a composer or a specific piece of classical music that you’re looking for. If you don’t know any good pieces off the top of your head, don’t worry – we’ll give you some recommendations later on.
Once you’ve entered your search term, tap on the Filter icon (it looks like three lines with circles next to them) and select “Relevance.” This will show you all of the most popular videos for your search term, which makes it more likely that you’ll find something good.
If you still can’t find what you’re looking for, try broadening your search terms or checking out some related composers. For example, if you search for “Beethoven symphony 5,” you might also want to try searching for “Mozart symphonies” or “Bach cello suites.”
Browse through the results
After you enter your query, hundreds of results may populate the page. You can browse through these results by clicking on the video thumbnails. As you scroll down, more results will load.
