Skrillex – First of the Year (Equinox)

“First of the Year (Equinox)” is a song by American electronic dance music producer Skrillex. It was released as a digital download on June 7, 2011, on Big Beat Records. The song features vocals from English singer-songwriter Ellie Goulding. It serves as the lead single from Skrillex’s second EP of the same name and his fourth overall. The song was written by Sonny Moore, Harriet Brown, Christopher Inglehart, and Gammer. It was produced by Moore and British record producer Gammer.

The song peaked at number seventeen on the Billboard Hot 100 in the United States, making it Skrillex’s second highest-charting single as a solo artist after “Bangarang”. Outside the United States, it peaked at number thirteen in Canada and number five in both Australia and New Zealand. In May 2014, a remix of the song by American record producers KOAN Sound was nominated for Best Remixed Recording at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards.

Nero – Promises

Nero is a British electronic music trio composed of members Dan Stephens, Joe Ray and Alana Watson. Nero’s music combines elements of house, techno, drum and bass, and dubstep. Nero has released four studio albums, one live album, two compilation albums and nine singles. Their debut album Welcome Reality was released in the UK on August 15, 2011 by MTA Records and in the US on October 18 by Interscope Records.

Nero’s music has been featured in television, film, and video games; their song “Innocence” was used as the soundtrack for a commercial for the Xbox 360 game Gears of War 3 in 2011. “Guilt” was used as a soundtrack for a commercial for Samsung’s Global Branding campaign in 2012. Nero’s song “Into The Past” from their second album Between II Worlds was featured in the season 4 finale of Breaking Bad. Nero has headlined multiple tours including the Welcome Reality Tour which visited Europe and North America during 2011–2012 and the Between II Worlds Tour which visited Europe during 2015.

Nero won a Grammy Award for their work on Monstercat Uncaged Vol. 4 with the track “Satisfy”.

Flux Pavilion – I Can’t Stop

EDM fans rejoice, for I bring to you the top 10 electronic dance music dubstep songs! This list was complied based on my own personal opinion, so please feel free to disagree. That being said, let’s get into it!

In at number 10 is Flux Pavilion’s “I Can’t Stop.” This song is an absolute banger and is sure to get your head nodding and feet moving. The heavy bass and catchy melody are sure to keep you coming back for more.

At number 9 we have Nero’s “Promises.” This song is a bit more mellow than the others on this list, but don’t let that fool you, it packs a serious punch. The drop will have you hooked from the first listen and the vocals will stay with you long after the song is over.

Number 8 on our list is Rusko’s “Hold On.” This song is another one that features some absolutely massive bass. Combined with Rusko’s signature wobbles, this song is sure to get your blood pumping.

Kaskade takes the number 7 spot with his track “Eyes.” This tune is a bit more upbeat than some of the others on this list, but don’t let that fool you, it’s still a heavy hitter. The chorus will stay in your head for days and the drop will leave you wanting more.

At number 6 we have Calvin Harris’ “Feel So Close.” This song has been a staple in Harris’ live sets for years now and it’s easy to see why. The catchy vocals and huge melody make this one an instant classic.

Skrillex claims the 5th spot with his track “Bangarang.” featuring Sirah. This tune is a certified banger and is sure to get any party started. The heavy bass and attitude-filled lyrics make this one a must-have for any Skrillex fan.

Zedd takes the 4th spot with his track “Clarity.” featuring Foxes. This song is a bit more subdued than some of the others on this list, but don’t let that fool you, it’s still a massive tune. The buildup leading into the drop will send chills down your spine and the vocals are absolutely stunning.

3LAU rounds out the top 3 with his track “Is It Love.” featuring Yeah Boy. This tune mashes up elements of house, EDM, and pop to create something truly special. The catchy vocals and feel-good melodies are sure to put a smile on your face.

Coming in at number 2 we have Porter Robinson with his track “Language.” This tune was an instant hit when it was released and it’s easy to see why. The heavy bass and emotive melodies are sure to tug at your heartstrings and leave you wanting more.
