What sets this artist apart from other folk musicians?
Bob Dylan is an American singer-songwriter, artist and writer. He has been an influential figure in popular music and culture for more than five decades. Much of his most celebrated work dates from the 1960s, when he became an informal chronicler and a reluctant figurehead of the Counterculture of the 1960s. A number of his songs, such as “Blowin’ in the Wind” and “The Times They Are a-Changin'”, became anthems of the anti-war and civil rights movements. As a songwriter, Dylan has composed more than 500 songs; he has also drawn on a wide range of other sources including traditional folk songs, oral histories, literature, and popular songs. His writing style has varied from the poetic to prose, often focusing on political and social issues.

It is always interesting to see what an artist will come up with next. We often hope to see something that is new and different from what they have done in the past. However, sometimes it is also nice to see an artist stay true to their roots. No matter what you are hoping to see, there are sure to be some great Folk music artists releasing new material in 2015.
