The Decemberists

The Decemberists are an American indie rock band from Portland, Oregon. They formed in 2000 and released their debut album, Castaways and Cutouts, in 2002. The band’s second album, Her Majesty the Decemberists, was released in 2003 and peaked at number 16 on the Billboard 200 chart. The group’s third album, The Crane Wife, was released in 2006 and peaked at number 10 on the Billboard 200.

The Decemberists’ fourth album, The Hazards of Love, was released in 2009. The album peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200 and received widespread critical acclaim. The band’s fifth album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World, was released in 2015 and debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200.

The Decemberists have headlined several music festivals, including Coachella, Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, and Pitchfork Music Festival. They have also performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and The Colbert Report.

Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes have announced a world tour in support of their new album, Crack-Up. The tour will kick off in Ireland on July 1st and will make stops in the UK, Europe, North America, and Australia. Tickets will go on sale to the general public on April 7th.

Iron & Wine

Iron & Wine is an American Folk rock band led by singer-songwriter Sam Beam. Originally from South Carolina, the band has been based in Austin, Texas since 2002. Their music is characterized by Beam’s warm, husky vocals and acoustic guitar playing.

The band’s first album, The Creek Drank the Cradle (2002), was released on Beam’s own label, Sub Pop. It garnered critical acclaim and sold more than 500,000 copies worldwide. The band’s next album, Our Endless Numbered Days (2004), was produced by Brian Deck and was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. In 2005, the band released a four-song EP entitled Woman King, followed by their third full-length album, The Shepherd’s Dog (2007).

Iron & Wine has toured extensively throughout the world and has played at a number of music festivals including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza and Glastonbury.

The band is currently touring in support of their latest album, Beast Epic (2017). Tour dates are as follows:

Tour History

The Decemberists

The Decemberists are an American indie rock band from Portland, Oregon. The band consists of Colin Meloy, Christopher Smitherman, Nate Query, Jenny Conlee and Russell High. The band’s debut EP, 5 Songs, was self-released in 2001. In January 2002, the Decemberists released their full-length debut album, Castaways and Cutouts on Hush Records. The album was nominated for a 2003 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album.

The Decemberists’ second album, Her Majesty the Decemberists, was released In July 2003 on Kill Rock Stars. This album was also nominated for a 2004 Grammy Award for Best Alternative Music Album. The band’s third album, The Crane Wife, was released on October 3 2006 on Capitol Records. This album peaked at number 16 on the Billboard 200 chart and earned the band a 2007 Grammy nomination for Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package.

The Decemberists’ fourth studio album, The Hazards of Love, was released on March 24th 2009. The Hazards of Love debuted at number 17 on the Billboard 200 chart and received generally positive reviews from critics. The Decemberists’ fifth studio album, What a Terrible World, What a Beautiful World was released on January 20th 2015 on Capitol Records. This album peaked at number 5 on the Billboard 200 chart and received critical acclaim from critics.

Fleet Foxes

Fleet Foxes is an American indie folk band formed in Seattle, Washington, in 2006. The band consists of Robin Pecknold (lead vocals, guitar, banjo, piano), Skyler Skjelset (guitar, mandolin, piano), Casey Wescott (keyboards, vocals), Christian Wargo (bass, vocals) and Morgan Henderson (multi-instrumentalist). Pecknold and Skjelset met while attending Lake Forest Academy in Illinois in 2000. The two transferred to NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. Their self-titled debut album was released on June 3, 2008 to critical acclaim and commercial success; it peaked at No. 11 on Billboard 200 and has sold over 590,000 copies in the United States as of October 2011. Helplessness Blues followed on May 3, 2011 and reached the top ten of many charts worldwide; it ranked number one on Billboard 200 for two weeks and was nominated for the 2012 Grammy Award for Best Folk Album. The group released Crack-Up on June 16, 2017 after a nearly six-year hiatus.

The band has toured extensively throughout North America and Europe. In 2008 they toured with Okkervil River and My Morning Jacket. In 2010 they played at festivals such as Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California; Bonnaroo Music Festival in Manchester Tennessee; Glastonbury Festival in Pilton England; Pitchfork Music Festival in Chicago Illinois; Lollapalooza Music Festival in Grant Park Chicago; Reading and Leeds Festivals; Austin City Limits Music Festivals; and the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival among others.

In 2011 they headlined their own fleet foxes tour across north America and Europe playing over 100 shows including headlining sets at festivals such as Sasquatch! Music Festival at The Gorge Amphitheatre in George Washington State; Bonnaroo again; Latitude Festival Suffolk England among others

Iron & Wine

Sam Beam, better known by his stage and recording name Iron & Wine, is an American singer-songwriter. He has released six studio albums, several EPs and singles, as well as a few DVD releases. His work has been featured in many movie soundtracks and compilations. He posts lyrics for most of his songs on his official website.

Beam was born in Chapel Hill, North Carolina. When he was a child, his family moved frequently, living in Virginia, Alabama, and Florida while he was growing up; he graduated from Windermere Preparatory School in Windermere, Florida in 1993. He began writing songs at a young age. By the time he was attending Florida State University he had already begun performing regularly with fellow musicians Michael Trent and Brian Chestnut.[3] In Tallahassee the trio became known as The Sawtooth Brothers; they recorded a self-released album called The Truth of Windows before Beam left Tallahassee to attend graduate school at the University of Miami.[citation needed]

Iron & Wine’s first EP was released in 2002 (the same year their debut full-length album was released) titled The Creek Drank the Cradle. The five-song EP featured “Southern Anthem”, “Bird Stealing Bread”, and “Upward Over the Mountain”, all of which would be re-recorded for later albums.[4][5]

Iron & Wine’s first full-length album, The Creek Drank the Cradle, was released to much acclaim in 2002. Pitchfork Media gave it a rating of 8 out of 10,[6] while PopMatters gave it 6 out of 10,[7] calling it “reminiscent of Mazzy Star or Galaxie 500.”[8] At Metacritic, which assigns a normalized rating out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, the album received an average score of 79 based on 18 reviews,[9] indicating “generally favorable reviews”.[10] AllMusic’s James Christopher Monger gave an even more favorable review calling it one of 2002’s best debuts and deciding that “…it will stand as one of this decade’s most stunningly accomplished debut long-players.”[11][12][13][14]

In 2006 he released his second studio album titled Our Endless Numbered Days. It achieved high marks from reviewers as well. Blender magazine rated it 4 out of 5 stars,[15][16][17] and Paste magazine said “…anyone who has heard Sam Beam’s music knows that this is going to be special….”.[18][19] Our Endless Numbered Days debuted at number eight on Billboard magazine’s Top Heatseekers chart.[20] Entertainment Weekly named it the 13th best album of 2006,[21][22][23][24][25] adding that Sam Beam is “…a rootsy homebody with an earthy voice that echoes Neil Young’s early solo work…”[21]. Our Endless Numbered Days also garnered significant commercial attention for several singles including “Passing Afternoon”,”Woman King”,[26],”Sodom South Georgia”[27],”Boy with a Coin”,[28],and “Jezebel”.[29].

In 2007 he released two EPs entitled Carouselle – EP[30 ][31 ][32 ]and Boy With A Coin – EP[33 ][34 ][35 ]. He also toured quite extensively during this time.[36 [37 [38 [39 ]

2008 brought more changes for Iron & Wine when Beam decided to release 2 albums instead 1 as originally planned: Around The Well and The Shepherd’s Dog.[40 ]Around The Well is made up largely of B-sides that did not make previous albums along with some new tracks written especially for this project; including tributes to Roky Erickson , Syd Barrett , Judee Sill , Nina Simone , Julee Cruise , Townes Van Zandt , Will Oldham , Smokey Robinson & Liz Phair . It features many guest performers including Ben Bridwell (Band Of Horses),DEPECHE MODE’S DAVE GAHAN ,Chad Taylor (Living Colour),Rob Burger (Tin Hat Trio),Enders Game’ s Bridget Fonda .The Shepherd’s Dog is Beam’s fourth proper studio album which features many different kinds themes musically including folk rock ,blues rock & experimental pop .It also sees him stretching himself these days songwriting wise penning more traditional gospel spiritual songs like “Me And Lazarus” along with more personal autobiographical tunes like “PaganAngel And A Borrowed Car”.”Boy With A Coin” would be single off this effort .In supportThe Shepherd’ s Dog Beam toured heavily throughout 2008 /2009 accompanying himself onstage with full band consisting mostly drums ,bass guitar pedal steel guitar along electric & acoustic guitars .”Wolves (Song Of The Shepherd’ s Dog)”,”Loud Is The Night”,”Lovesong Of The Buzzard”,”Big Burned Hand” are tour dates /locations currently schedule Spring 2010

Fleet Foxes

Seattle’s Fleet Foxes may have only released two albums, but their live performances are already the stuff of legend. With three distinct vocalists and up to eight members on stage at any given time, the Fleet Foxes create a lush, layered sound that is both intimate and grandiose. Their shows are known for being playful and improvisational, with the band often swapping instruments mid-song. If you’re a fan of folk music, seeing the Fleet Foxes live is a must.

Iron & Wine

Iron & Wine is an American musical project created by singer-songwriter Sam Beam, who writes, records, performs, and releases music under this moniker. Beam has released seven studio albums, three live albums, and one EP as Iron & Wine. He has also collaborated with other artists on several occasions.

Beam was raised in South Carolina before moving to Virginia to attend college. He began recording songs on a four-track tape recorder under the name “Iron & Wine” in 2001 and released his debut album The Creek Drank the Cradle in 2002. The name “Iron & Wine” is taken from a dietary supplement named “Beef Iron & Wine” that he saw in an advertisement.

Since its inception, Iron & Wine’s musical style has evolved to include elements of folk, electronica, and even hip hop. This evolution is evident on his more recent albums such as Kiss Each Other Clean and Ghost On Ghost. Despite this growth and experimentation with different genres, Beam’s music maintains a consistent themes of loss, love, and hope.

Grammy-nominated indie rockers The Decemberists will be heading out on tour this fall in support of their new album I’ll Be Your Girl.
