Pearl Jam – Jeremy
“Jeremy” is a song by the American rock band Pearl Jam, with lyrics written by lead vocalist Eddie Vedder and music written by guitarist Mike McCready. The song was released in 1992 as the fourth single from the band’s debut album, Ten. The song caused controversy upon its release, with many school districts across the United States banning it from being played over fear of copycat suicides. “Jeremy” is based on a true story about a classmates’ suicide that occurred at Richardson West Junior High School in Richardson, Texas in January of 1992.
The song was ranked at number three on Pearl Jam’s Top Ten list and number 436 on Rolling Stone magazine’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In March 1995, upon the tenth anniversary of theJovan Belcher shooting, then-current Kansas City Chiefs linebacker Derrick Thomas mentioned “Jeremy” during a eulogy he gave at Belcher’s funeral.

Alice in Chains is a successful American rock band that has been around since the late 1980s. The band rose to fame with their second album, “Dirt”, which was released in 1992. “Would?” is a single off of this album.
The music video for “Would?” was released in 1992 and was directed by Bob Gorman. It features the band performing in a warehouse, with close-ups of the members’ faces. The video also intercuts footage of people walking around in Seattle, which is where the band is from.
