The Strokes- The New Abnormal

The New Abnormal is the upcoming seventh studio album by American rock band the Strokes. It is scheduled to be released on April 10, 2020, by Cult Records and RCA Records. The album was announced on January 20, 2020, along with the lead single “At the Door”.

The 1975- Notes on a Conditional Form

The 1975’s “Notes on a Conditional Form” is one of the best indie alt rock albums of 2020. With it’s mix of punk, grunge, and pop, the album is sure to please fans of all genres.

Tame Impala- The Slow Rush

Tame Impala is an Australian rock band led by multi-instrumentalist Kevin Parker. The group appeared in the mainstream in 2010 with their debut album, Innerspeaker, and reached new heights in 2013 with the release of their second album, Lonerism. They have since released two more albums, Currents (2015) and The Slow Rush (2020).

Tame Impala’s music has been described as “psychedelic pop”, “psych-rock”, and “neo-psychedelia”. Parker’s production is often likened to that of 1960s and 1970s psychedelic music, and he has stated that his musical influences include Pink Floyd, the Beach Boys, Beck, Stereolab, and Can.

Beck- Hyperspace

The 14th studio album by Beck was released on November 22, 2019, by Capitol Records. The album features contributions from Sky Ferreira, Chris Martin, Pharrell Williams, and Greg Kurstin. The lead single “Saw Lightning” was released on April 18, 2019. “Uneasy” was released as the second single on September 25, 2019. “Dark Places” was released as the third single on October 16, 2019. “Hyperspace” was released as the fourth single on November 7, 2019.

Weezer- Van Weezer

Weezer’s 14th album, “Van Weezer,” hits the sweet spot between camp and self-awareness. It’s a record that knows exactly what it is — a tribute to ’80s hard rock, complete with power chords, shredding solos and lyrics about girls and rocking out — and revels in it. This isn’t a novelty record made by a bunch of guys in their 40s who are trying (and failing) to recapture their youth; it’s a genuine love letter to the music that inspired them.

Rivers Cuomo and company have always had a knack for writing catchy hooks, and “Van Weezer” is no exception. The riffs are huge, the choruses are anthemic and the guitars are cranked to 11. This is music made for arenas, not basements; it’s big, dumb fun from start to finish. And while some might find the album’s retro sensibilities to be off-putting, there’s no denying that Weezer has crafted one of the most fun records of the year.
