“I Don’t Care” is a song recorded by English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran and Canadian singer Justin Bieber. The track was released as a single on 10 May 2019, through Asylum Records and Atlantic Records, after being leaked online on 4 May 2019. The song was written by both artists with Ed Pearce, Benny Blanco and Fred Gibson, with production handled by the latter two. It is included as the ninth track on Sheeran’s fourth studio album, No.6 Collaborations Project (2019).
On the week of 21 May 2019, “I Don’t Care” debuted at number one on the UK Singles Chart with 42,000 downloads and 20 million streams, becoming Sheeran’s 12th UK number-one single and Bieber’s sixth. In the United States, it debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100; this made Bieber the third artist to have three songs debut at number one in less than a year on the chart following Drake in 2018–19 and Cardi B in 2017–18. Commercially, it became both artists’ second number-one single each in Australia (where it spent three non-consecutive weeks at the top), Canada and New Zealand; as well as Bieber’s first number-one single in Brazil and Sheeran’s fourth in Ireland. It also peaked at number one in fourteen other countries including Sweden, Denmark and Portugal.
