The American Music Award for Favorite Artist – Pop/Rock has been one of the American Music Awards’s original awards since 1974. It was first presented as the American Music Award for Top Pop Artist. The award was presented to the artist with the highest sales within the pop/rock genre for that particular year. In 2015, this award was renamed to its current title.

Last year, Taylor Swift took home the prize for Favorite Artist – Pop/Rock as well as Album of the Year and Artist of the Year. This year, she is nominated again in all three categories. Swift is up against some stiff competition in the Favorite Artist – Pop/Rock category, including Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Luke Bryan, and Maroon 5. However, we predict that she will come out on top once again.

American Music Award for Favorite Album Pop/Rock

The American Music Awards are almost here and we can’t wait to see who takes home the award for Favorite Album Pop/Rock. This year’s nominees are Taylor Swift, Ed Sheeran, Imagine Dragons, Maroon 5, and Panic! at the Disco. Who do you think will win?

The nominees

This year, the American Music Award for Favorite Album Pop/Rock is a highly competitive category with some of the biggest names in music nominated. The nominees are:
– Taylor Swift for “Reputation”
– Ed Sheeran for “Divide”
– Bruno Mars for “24K Magic”

All three artists are extremely popular and have had massive success with their respective albums. It’s hard to say who will come out on top, but we’ll give you our predictions below.

Who will win: Bruno Mars
Mars’ album “24K Magic” was a huge success both commercially and critically. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and has been certified double platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The album’s lead single, “24K Magic”, was a top ten hit in several countries and won Mars his first Grammy Award for Record of the Year. Given all of this success, we think Bruno Mars is the likely winner in this category.

Who could surprise: Ed Sheeran
Although he isn’t the favorite to win, don’t count out Ed Sheeran. His album “Divide” was an enormous success, debuting at number one on the Billboard 200 and spending nine weeks atop the chart. It has been certified quadruple platinum by the RIAA and has sold over four million copies in the United States alone. Additionally, three of its singles—”Shape of You”, “Castle on the Hill”, and “Perfect”—were all global hits, with “Perfect” becoming Sheeran’s first number one single in the US. Given all of this success, Sheeran could definitely pull off an upset in this category.
