New Releases

Up and coming indie rock band, “The 1975” recently released their second album, “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it.” The album has been very successful.

Check out the new album from The National

It’s been five years since The National last released an album, and fans have been impatiently waiting for new music. The band finally returned this month with their eighth studio album, Sleep Well Beast. The record is already being hailed as one of their best, and it’s easy to see why.

Sleep Well Beast is a massive, sprawling album that finds The National at the top of their game. The songs are complex and layered, with intricate instrumentation and sweeping melodies. Matt Berninger’s baritone is as arresting as ever, and the lyrics are sharp and insightful. It’s an intense listen from start to finish, but it’s also an incredibly rewarding one.

If you’re a fan of The National, Sleep Well Beast is a must-listen. And if you’re new to the band, this album is a great place to start. Either way, it’s one of the best records of the year so far.

Listen to the new single from Vampire Weekend

Vampire Weekend’s new single “Harmony Hall” is now available to stream on all major platforms. The first single off their highly anticipated forthcoming album, Father of the Bride, “Harmony Hall” is a sunny, anthemic rock song that recalls the band’s earlier hits like “A-Punk” and “Oxford Comma.”

With its chugging guitars and Afro-pop influences, “Harmony Hall” is a welcome return to form for Vampire Weekend. The band’s last album, Modern Vampires of the City, was a more subdued affair that saw them experimenting with electronic music and synth-pop. While that album was met with critical acclaim, it didn’t have the same mass appeal as their debut.

With its catchy hooks and upbeat energy, “Harmony Hall” is sure to be a radio hit and will get Vampire Weekend fans excited for the release of Father of the Bride later this spring.

Upcoming Releases

There are many great new releases coming out in the next few months. Here are some of the most highly anticipated Indie Rock albums.

Anticipated albums from Hozier and The 1975

With a release date of September 4th, Hozier’s “Wasteland, Baby!” is one of the most anticipated albums of the year. The Irish singer-songwriter’s debut album, “Hozier”, was released in 2014 and quickly went platinum in the US and Ireland. His follow-up EP, “From Eden”, featured the Grammy-nominated single “Take Me to Church”. Hozier’s new album features 16 tracks, including the lead single “Movement”.

The 1975 are also set to release their long-awaited third album, “A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships”, on November 30th. The British indie rock band has been teasing their new album for over a year now, and they recently shared the first single from the album, “Give Yourself a Try”. The band’s last album, “I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it”, was released in 2016 and debuted at No. 1 on the UK Albums Chart.

Most-anticipated singles from Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish

We’re only a few months into 2020, but there have already been some incredible new music releases. From Megan Thee Stallion and Beyonce’s much-anticipated “Savage” remix to Dua Lipa’s club-ready bop “Don’t Start Now,” there’s been no shortage of new tunes to keep us dancing all year long.

But there are still plenty of highly-anticipated releases on the horizon, including new singles from pop powerhouse Lana Del Rey and rising star Billie Eilish.

Lana Del Rey kicked off the new year with the release of her haunting ballad “Hope Is a Dangerous Thing for a Woman Like Me to Have – But I Have It,” and she’s set to drop her sixth studio album, “Norman F***ing Rockwell,” later this year. While we don’t know too much about the record just yet, Lana has said that it will be “chock-full of references to American culture and my personal experiences with it.”

Billie Eilish, meanwhile, is gearing up to release her highly-anticipated debut album, “WHEN WE ALL FALL ASLEEP, WHERE DO WE GO?” on March 29. She’s already shared two singles from the record — “bury a friend” and “you should see me in a crown” — and if they’re any indication of what’s to come, we’re in for a treat.

Both Lana Del Rey and Billie Eilish have proven themselves to be masterful storytellers, so we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next.

Music Festivals

The best way to enjoy music is live and in person. There is nothing like being at a music festival and feeling the energy of the crowd and the band. Music festivals are the perfect place to discover new music and to see your favorite bands in a new setting.

The National and Vampire Weekend to headline Lollapalooza

Lollapalooza, one of the biggest and most iconic music festivals in the world, has announced its 2019 lineup. This year’s headliners include The National, Vampire Weekend, and Childish Gambino. The festival will take place in Chicago’s Grant Park from August 1-4.

Lollapalooza was founded in 1991 by Jane’s Addiction singer Perry Farrell as a farewell tour for his band. The tour turned into a three-day festival the following year, and has been held annually ever since (with the exception of a six-year hiatus from 1997-2002). Lollapalooza has become known for its eclectic lineup, which typically includes a mix of rock, hip hop, EDM, and pop acts.

This year’s lineup also includes Ariana Grande, Tame Impala, Florence + The Machine, Lil Wayne, Twenty One Pilots, Bassnectar, Rosalia, J Balvin, Lizzo, Hozier, Maggie Rogers, Janelle Monae, and many more. Tickets go on sale Wednesday at 10 a.m. CT.

Hozier and The 1975 to headline Bonnaroo

Bonnaroo is an annual four-day music festival held in Manchester, Tennessee. The festival was founded by Ashley Capps of AC Entertainment and Kerry Black of Superfly Productions, two concert promoters who had worked together for the successful Lollapalooza festival in the 1990s. The name of the festival is derived from Dr. John Crean’s 1974 album Desitively Bonnaroo.

This year’s lineup includes Hozier, The 1975, My Morning Jacket, Alabama Shakes, Childish Gambino, and many more.
