In March 2016, Ex’Act became EXO’s third consecutive album to sell over one million copies, setting the record for highest first-week sales of a K-pop artist. In December 2016, they released their fourth studio album The War which debuted at number one on Billboard 200 making them the only Asian artist to do so with four albums

BLACKPINK is a South Korean girl group formed by YG Entertainment in 2016. The group consists of four members: Jisoo, Jennie, Rosé, and Lisa. They are the first and only female K-pop group to be certified Diamond in the US by the RIAA, and have also achieved five number one singles on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart.

They debuted on August 8, 2016 with their single album Square One, which featured “Whistle” and “Boombayah”, their first number-one hits on the Billboard World Digital Songs chart.
