The Psychedelic Furs- “Love My Way”
The Psychedelic Furs are an English rock band formed in London in 1977. The mainstay of the band through its first fourteen years was singer Richard Butler, with brothers Tim Butler on bass guitar and Duncan “Snake” Thomas on drums. The Psychedelic Furs’ music went through several phases, starting off as an underground punk band and later gaining popularity as a New Wave act. By the early 1980s, however, most of the members had begun to move on to other projects and it wasn’t until 2001 that the Butler brothers reconvened to reform the band.
The band’s new album, “Come Alive”, was released in March of 2010 and was their first album in over 20 years. In June of that same year, they embarked on a world tour which included dates in Europe, North America, and Australia. The Psychedelic Furs continue to tour regularly and are still going strong today.
Their most popular song is “Love My Way”, which was originally released as a single in 1982 and later appeared on the soundtrack to the film “Pretty in Pink”. The song has been covered by many artists over the years, most notably by Billy Idol in 1987.
