Kirk Franklin
Kirk Franklin is an American gospel singer, songwriter, record producer, and choir director. He is best known for his work with the gospel group The Family, which he founded in 1993. Franklin has won multiple Grammy Awards and has been credited with helping to shape the sound of contemporary gospel music.
Franklin was born in Fort Worth, Texas, on January 26, 1970. He began singing in his church choir at an early age and went on to study music at Jackson State University.
