The group was founded in the early 1980s and has been a staple in the Southern gospel music genre ever since. The group has had many notable members over the years, such as Gary McSpadden, Steve Green, and Jonathan Pierce.

The Gaither Vocal Band is an American southern gospel vocal group, named after its founder and leader Bill Gaither. He started the group in 1980 with the help of Gary McSpadden, Mark Lowry, and MichaelEnglish. The lineup has changed several times over the years; English and McSpadden both left in the early 1990s, while former singer Vestal Goodman rejoined the group in 1998. David Phelps joined in 1994, with Wes Hampton joining a few years later.

The current lineup includes Gaither on lead vocals, Hampton, Goodman, Phelps, Adam Crabb, Kevin Williams and Todd Suttles. TheGaither Vocal Band tours regularly across the United States and has also performed internationally. They have released thirty-nine albums over their career and have been awarded fourteen Dove Awards and five Grammy Awards for their work in Gospel music.

On March 1, 1981, the original lineup consisted of Bill Gaither, Gary McSpadden, Kevin Williams, Jon Mohr and Jim Murray. Williams and Mohr both left in 1982, replaced by Cheryl White and Randy Parker. McSpadden resigned in 1991 and was replaced by Vestal Goodman; Parker left the same year and was not replaced until 1998 when Jake Hess joined the group. David Phelps joined the group in February 2009. Goodman retired from full-time touring with the group in 1999 but continued to record albums with them until her death in 2003; Phelps left the group to pursue a solo career in 2008 but has continued to record with them as a guest vocalist on certain albums.”

Founded in 1956, The Booth Brothers are an American Southern Gospel trio from Nashville, Tennessee. Comprised of brothers Ronnie and Michael Booth, and Paul Lancaster, the group has been entertaining audiences for over 50 years with their unique style of harmonies and energetic stage presence.

The Booth Brothers got their start singing together in church as children. When they were older, the brothers began traveling and performing throughout the Southeast region of the United States. They soon caught the attention of Nashville music executives and in 2000, they signed with Gaither Music Group.

Since then, The Booth Brothers have released 12 albums, all of which have topped the Southern Gospel Music charts. They have also won numerous awards, including five Grammy nominations and three Dove Awards. After high school, the Booth Brothers began their professional careers in music.

In 1994, the group released its third album My Children Pray on Spring Hill Music Group (now E1 Music). This was the first album the group recorded in a professional studio. It featured songs written by Shirley Caesar and Dottie Rambo. The album was certified gold by the RIAA in 1995.

In 1996, the group released its fourth album A Tribute to Paul Overstreet on Spring Hill Music Group (now E1 Music). This album featured songs written by Paul Overstreet and Dolly Parton. The album was certified gold by the RIAA in 1997.

In 1998, the group released its fifth album A Tribute to Benny Hester on Intersound Records (now Universal Music Group). This album featured songs written by Benny Hester and Bill Gaither. The album was certified gold by the RIAA in 1999.

In 2000, the group signed with Christian music label Daywind Records and released its sixth album Genesis on Daywind Records (now Capitol Christian Music Group). This was the first album Recorded at Gary Miller’s Nashvile recording studio; it features songs written By Vince Gill and Wayne Kirkpatrick

The Crabb Family is a southern gospel music group, who rose to fame in the early 1990s. The group was formed by siblings Jason, Adam, and Aaron Crabb, along with their cousin, Chad Michael Murray. The foursome were all born and raised in London, Kentucky.

The Crabb Family charted 16 number-one hits on the Southern Gospel Music Association’s radio airplay chart between 1996 and 2006. They have also won numerous awards, including three Dove Awards and six Gospel Music Association Dove Awards. In 2008, they were inducted into the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame.

The group disbanded in 2007, but reunited in 2013 and released a new album in 2014.

In 2000, the United States Library of Congress honored “I Saw the Light” by adding it to the National Recording Registry. It is one of only 50 recordings chosen that year for this honor.
