Introduction

This new sound quickly caught on, and by the 1990s, techno was being played in nightclubs all over the world.

Today, techno is one of the most popular genres of electronic dance music (EDM), and its original sound has been adopted and adapted by DJs and producers around the globe. If you’re wondering where techno came from, read on to learn about the origins of this exciting genre.
